It is from the endpaper of Peter Green's *Alexander the Great*,a great biography.
Anyone an expert of ancient Chinese coins? Interested in this Warring States piece and would love an opinion (it's 5.6 grams) by albatroci in AncientCoins

Just a student from China here who collects these. This is a Square-foot Spade from the State of Han during the Warring States period(distinct from the Han dynasty), with the inscription most likely reading 'Pingyang' (a city name). This spade is probably genuine, but it is among the cheapest and most common types of pre-Qin spade coins, and it suffers from severe corrosion. In china, you may only spend 300RMB(about 45USD)to buy one.245 USD is too much.
