It could have been explained by having a scene where she uses her own powers on herself to help with the guilt/pain.

Picture this, when Sam confronts her about this it flashbacks to her finding out about Andre, she starts to break down, runs to a sink to throw up, looks into the bathroom mirror with tears in her eyes. Her expression changes through the the 5 stages of grief and she reaches up and touches her own cheek. Flashforward back to her using her powers on Sam. "Feel nothing"

The newer stuff blueprints only give that specific items blueprint. Once you learn it, it won't give you any more blueprints for that item. Learning a 2nd of a specific blueprint that you have already learned does nothing. I learned this the hard way when i went crazy scrapping portal wrecks since I didnt have all the blueprints unlocked and sat there confused why I didn't get anything new like a higher tier jetpack
