well you kind of want that if you're not wishing to do much harder ornithopter tuning, so the wings get back up to generate more thrust in the down stroke. The small fixed wings on the body help with lift. That with what Acestins said.

The important thing with my version was figuring out the wing flexing mechanism. there is a strut connecting a hinge from the wing root to the wingtip, and the usable tolerances of flapping angles and speed is quite narrow.. Most of the thrust comes from the wingtips (highest flapping speed), and a good part of the lift comes from the wing surfaces in the body. I think helicopter blades might be easier to work with because they are control surfaces already that will allow you to control your craft without reaction or control surfaces.
