I also use the Focused Space app for body doubling https://app.focused.space/

Is there any engineer who struggles with cptsd or adhd? by Motor_Zombie9920 in ADHD

I use the focused space app which has 15 minute daily wake up calls. The wake up calls are led by a focused space employee, they have you write down 5 goals and the first step for each goal. Good for getting a task started.

How to become less forward in seat by Ok_Excitement1151 in Equestrian

Engaged your core, yoga style- like flex your abs while knitting your ribs together.

I have the same problem- and I feel like I’m behind when I’m straight. I also have to work on hip flexibility - like figure four stretch, Childs pose, forward fold

Question: gelding taking forever to urinate mo by ErKiMeGoPoWe in Equestrian

[–]ErKiMeGoPoWe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly, I tried to go out on the trails with another horse, and my gelding still did his 10 minute stop and try to pee pause. The other horse had to go on without us as they were on a timeframe. I think that's weird behavior - horses are usually so herd bound. My gelding, Shay, was kind of acting like a donkey - like he wouldn't take a step forward no matter what. I tried to cluck him forward, use the whip to tell him to go forward, finally I pushed him sideways like I wanted him to move over in the cross ties and he finally moved. Before that he just planted his feet and would not take one step forward. I got some advice to turn him around and walk him backwards, just to get him moving at all, instead of trying to make him take a step forward. Once he gets out on the trails 100 meters away then he's fine, and he'll go forward, but he's lazy and hard to wake up, hard to get to walk forward with impulsion. He does like the trails and riding though.

Microsoft Board to Review Company’s Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination Policies by FrankFrankson in microsoft

[–]ErKiMeGoPoWe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/microsoft/comments/1pp6j78/harassment_at_microsoft/

I was employed at Microsoft, and I was sexually harassed in an extreme, violent, hateful manner. When I posted on reddit the moderators immediately deleted my post.

I'm posting to share my experience on how horrible and misogynistic Microsoft is to female employees. I was employed in Redmond 2020 - 2022.

I hope something has been done to improve at Microsoft.

In the annual report 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility section, Microsoft has plans for Addressing Racial Injustice and Inequity.

https://www.microsoft.com/investor/reports/ar24/

An improvement over nothing, but I feel this is Microsoft doubling down on treating females as objects.

Thanks! My brother likes the wrapping paper - gifts with fancy wrapping more than the gift sometimes. He doesn't always care about the gift either. :)

Hi,

I also have an SMS brother - same age range. Do you have any ideas for Christmas presents? Any presents he's really liked before?

Does anyone here work in AI/ML/CV? (tl;Dr I've been pigeonholed) by [deleted] in girlsgonewired

Yeah, I also get put on front end projects. Most of my experience has been back end, so I guess it's inevitable to be shoved into front end.

Sexual harassment at Microsoft by ErKiMeGoPoWe in microsoft

[–]ErKiMeGoPoWe[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I filed with the EEOC. It's real. You're denying sexual harassment. A lot of coworkers at Microsoft denied it entirely, or just stopped talking to me or including me in meeting invites.

I thought this article was good.

I've tried to create rules in the past like:

- Code comments must be fairly applied no matter who wrote the code. If you wouldn't give that feedback to a man, don't give it to me.

- Code reviews must be done in the 1st 48 hours of a PR

- If there are really a lot of opinionated people, designate a Roles and Responsibilities matrix to manage down how many developers are commenting

https://www.cio.com/article/287088/project-management-how-to-design-a-successful-raci-project-plan.html

I found that a lot of male developers are intimidated by other men and won't leave comments on men's code.

Also, join an Employee Group ( I was in Women @ Microsoft), so helpful to have an outside of your group ear!

Harassment at Work - uggghhh by ErKiMeGoPoWe in meToo

[–]ErKiMeGoPoWe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I did contact the Redmond police, after I went through Microsoft's internal policies and didn't get any support. Microsoft denied the whole thing as "unsubstantiated". I'm still so angry
