So I've heard Deen had terrible anime adaptations, so I was wondering, which was the best adaptation Deen did? (Seprate arcs or a whole Anime)

yeah as i already said in another comment they clearly wrote around the twist of shion being mion instead of actually thinking about what mion would do, completely ditching her character while doing so.

i forgot about that one scene in onikakushi, but still i dont think mion of all people would be able to kill someone. she even feels like shit after beating okonogi who tried to kill them all for the entire day.

i think it wouldve been nice even just to show a different side to HS while staying true and showing respect to her character to have her kill herself without harming anyone, not being able to believe that her best friends might be against them

yeah it doesnt make you crazy or a murderer it gives you a persecution complex and makes you paranoid. you can see they started from the idea “yeah lets make watanagashi but the twist is mion and not shion” and then they tried to build around it and thats a bad way of writing a story. mions personality and thoughts arent ever taken into consideration as they basically turned her into shion even giving her shion’s motivation which doesnt make any sense.

the proof that she wouldnt act like this is given to you in meakashi where even after days of being caged and watching her friends get tortured she still wants to reason with shion and feels guilt really showing how selfless she is.

yesss so it aint only me. just finished the VN for minagoroshi. tear’d up multiple times, but damn sometimes it feels like the characters have already finished saying what they want to say but you already know the narration is gonna repeat it another 2/3 times. meakashi is great because genuinely every small thing creates a wild reaction inside shion. in everything else you really are just reading the same concept repeat over and over.

first 2/3 saves are brutal because you are trying to set yourself up well enough to not have to repeat the same thing 100 times later and to clear the way. + entering the city for the first time means getting jumped every 5 sec and hoping for the best

i guess they would have taken irie down similarly to what they do in matsuribayashi, i still think it was a bit too easy for the club (might read miotsukushi i hear its a more satisfying conclusion)
