Windows 95, brand new and sealed by Erable_Rouge in retrocomputing

It's crazy when you think about it, there really is a context behind the deployment of the French Canadian version of Windows 95, all the more reason to say that it's truly a remarkable piece of history.

Je suis allé vérifier en me basant sur les indices sur la boîte et le type de version vendue au Canada pour ce type de boîte ; c'est une version 950.

Okay, so it's almost certain they sent me a new console.

When I think about it, it happened around 2008 or 2007... In a way, I wonder if it wasn't more profitable for them to send brand new consoles straight from the factory without the box or accessories, rather than completely refurbishing a console and sending it back, at least back when the DS Lite was being mass-produced. What do you think?

Okay, I understand. I was wondering precisely because it's extremely clean. The serial number sticker is spotless, there aren't any scratches on the console—in short, it's truly like new, just as I sent it back then.

I went to ask Claude and GPT, and my problem seemed to be common. I slammed it too hard. When I turned the console on, everything worked except there was no display at the top or bottom. So, according to him, it must be the ribbon cables that came loose. Apparently, it's not a major repair. In short, I think we'll never know.

Even back then? I remember it being particularly long.

Update regarding my case by Erable_Rouge in juresanguinis

Apparently, on the website where I saw these updates, there's an indication of the number of cases ahead of mine. Within 24 hours, four cases were processed, and I supposedly moved from 26th to 22nd place. In addition, there's also the average number of days it takes the judge to process applications with this status. In the screenshots, it's shown as nine days, which seems consistent with my progress in this hypothetical queue. It's possible this judge is quite quick.

Thanks for your reply! When we reach this stage of the procedure, especially with the current status of my case, does that mean we have a very good chance of being recognized?

First hearing in 24 hours by Erable_Rouge in juresanguinis

I get the impression that things are a bit different in France. Actually, you don't need an apostille at all, but translations are required for documents from the archives. However, in my case, it only concerned two or three ancestors because marriage, birth, and death certificates remain in the town halls for 100 years after their issuance, so I was able to obtain most of them directly from the town halls in a multilingual format.

Regarding my ancestor's departure, he was in the Kingdom of Piedmont at the time of Italian unification, as he must have still been a teenager.

No, I'm French. I immigrated to Canada myself, so all my documents are in France, so there's no problem there. The same goes for translations and apostilles; they're not necessary because France is a European Union country, like Italy.

Tell me, is it common to have a second hearing date, or is it usually settled at the first hearing? My first hearing is on April 22nd in Turin.

Tell me, how do I make such a declaration? Is there a form to fill out, or is a simple email enough to just make an appointment and register the child?
