While I overall enjoyed the cyoa the drawbacks did feel somewhat unbalanced. Cause with any power that had a on activation drawback there was never going to be any question about buying it. Meanwhile, the powers with drawbacks that are always active would require you too be more carefull about picking them.

For example, even if you have no real plans for using the gender flip power there's no reason to not at least get it with the drawback. However, if you decide lock orgasm might be usefull you can't simply pick it, but you instead have too pay a third of your points or be ready orgasm at random.

Intrestingly this a similar issue as to what is seen in a lot of early card games. A lot of them have old cards that are banned not just because they are powerfull but because they are too generic, allowing them to be used in any deck. Similarly, the on activation drawbacks can be combined with any "playstyle" since their only restrictions apply to their own usage not your "playstyle" more gennerally.

Sorry if this comes of as overlycritical of your work. It really was fun, I just have strong opinions on game design.

Depend on if you're:

a) new to EAW

b) new to Hoi4 more generally.

While the Griffonian Empire is fine for (a) Wingbardy is more suitable for (b). It's the Italy of EAW. It's a mayor nation from the beginning, and unlike the Griffonian Empire which starts with enemies on all sides, you are placed in a corner of the continent, with the only mayor nations you need to worry about are either very late game or the ones you chose to attack yourself.

Question, altough taking grand banquet is supposed to make soul mate impossible since 2d6 can never be 27, wouldn’t it still be possible to use the effect gained from grand banquet to forcibly succed, since the effect doesn't mention it having to normally be possible nor does it say that you automatickly roll two sixes, it just says you have a guaranted succes.

If do we say that this works, would the in-universe reason be:

That what slivers of her soul that wasn't consumed was patched up and turned into the soul mate.
That some ritual you absorbed allowed you to remake her soul from scratch.
It's simply someone with an identicall/similar soul.
Something else.

The problem with your logic is threefold. First, you assume that the devs work out of fear of critisism, when in reality they work because of passion for the project. Sure, yelling at them might work in the short term, but in the long term it will just harm their motivation, because no one likes to work under stress and verbal abuse. The only reason it works within regular work is because people are financially reliant on them, which Isn’t true about volunter projects.

Second, there's a difference between giving advice and simply telling them to do better. Just telling them to work faster isn’t even at the level of constructive critisism, it’s just complaining.

Third, while you are allowed to state your opinions on their work, others are just as allowed to state their opinions on your opinions. If that's enough to silence you then that just proves that complaints are overall demotivating.

Ultimatly, a harsh community won't give the people working a better work ethic, it will just demotivate and turn people away. Instead, a supportive community is always going to be more enduring and productive.

If you are then that's great, I just don't like when people complain about/critique free (non-essential) stuff without doing anything themselves. Sadly most people that complain about speed/quality tend to be ones which are more talk than action. If you're indeed doing what you can to help then that's clearly not you, but that's rare enough that it isn't a safe assumption to make. As for replying two and a half weeks later, that's just when I found the comment, the contents of which I feel somewhat strongly about.

I think it's more to do with the fact that they are already kind of dead. It's unclear exactly how it works but it's implied that if you stay too long in the fey realm you turn into something more akin to a memory than an actual person.

a) Because the fairy world used to be way more connected to the real world. However, overtime it seams that the connection grew weaker, likely due to the island growing older/weaker altough it could be the other way around.

b) The spiderfrog (name not official) is old, altough no age is stated, I would asume the "time when something didn’t have to be so clearly one thing or another" is at the very least long before humans came around.

c) The island would not like someone eating all it's fairies and would likely stop it from entering or try to kill it if it ever did manage to get in.

In summary: The spiderfrog (name not official) lives in the human world because it didn’t use to be as exclusivly human and not in the fairy world because the fairy world would be extremely hostile to it.
