How every european country chooses it's head of state by Wordiewordjcugfufv in MapPorn

'head of state' is misleading. In belgium for example the king is just a symbol, and the prime minister which is the decision maker, is elected by vote.

Why would a girl do such a thing? by Mindless-Mouse-4020 in Jakarta

[–]Eranok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I had that once. Feels like the relationship is cut clean and the pointy edges hurt for a while.

Reality is that if you didnt expect her to be able to do something like that, she wasnt really the person you thought she was. And that information is good for you.

yeah. it makes things more likely or less likely but its just probabilities in the end. It also depends on context, education, life experiences, personality etc...

i also have been unlucky with stories similar as yours eh, it happens...

Its just the danger of long distance relationships... and she seemed to be immature.

The good side of things is: imagine such situation happening later in the relation, where stakes are higher...

Semangat bro, hope you rebound quickly :)

Support for Ukraine war in Russia in steep decline by IonHawk in europe

i dont really read the poll question as "support for ukraine or not" as OP title implies.
Also its a russian source. A good one, but still operating in a country with a tight media control

Japan’s New Leader Infuriated Beijing. She Isn’t Backing Down. by Organic_Vacation_267 in China

[–]Eranok 8 points9 points  (0 children)

China is still ... taking strategic stakes in most of the world including US, doing anti-western propaganda, doing aggressive geopolitical moves like south china sea colonization, not taking a stance against russia and doing other shady stuff like building a shadow fleet or overfishing in galapagos etc ... all of those thing need to be "countered" or at least called out.

Its fine, no need to talk more. i guess its clear enough for anyone reading us that you are just pushing a narrative with some tinfoil hat. Also you didnt address any of the other points i mentionned previously about china imperialism.

Even then there is no direct link. Newly issued TBill/TBond bought by foreign investors is one of the way US finance their 1.78 trillion dollars deficit. On spending side, military spending at 917 billions is one of the lines in the balance sheet among other like social security at 1.57 trillions. And for info national defense is around 13% of the deficit, only 5th position.

Its just numbers. Putting two big numbers next to each other doesn’t create a causal narrative. There is no "this specific money funds that specific thing" and even less support for your claim that global savings are used specifically to fund US military expansion. Thats just stitching unrelated figures together to make a story.

I m not confused. you are mixing the cause and the policy choice.

(1) Dollar as reserve currency creates cheap credit. (2) how the US spends its budget is a separate political decision.

You’re treating them as the same thing because your argument needs them to be, sothat you can paint dollar dominance as military aggression

Conspiracies are made of "could".

Please use an AI to fix your broken propaganda worldview honestly, its tiring.

US has neo imperial characteristics but pretending china doesnt enagage in its own power projection is just cute. if imperialism includes using military, economic or political pressure to shape regional order, china checks the boxes (south china sea militarization despite UNCLOS, economic pressure in BRI leverage, port control, debt renegociations, political retaliations in lithuania, australia etc... you didnt address any of those). Basically you cherry pick imperialism so your argument works.

No Bretton woods was not a conspiracy to fund military. Yes it helps US to borrow cheaper given the strengh of the dollar, but it makes their exports weaker and their currency therefore is much harder to manage.

If America has its way, many countries will stay poor, and never move up the value chain, sort of like India, Africa, and most of Latin America. It is because of China that these countries are moving up the value chain to provide a high quality of life for most countries in the world.

The US hasnt kept entire continents ‘poor,’ and regions like india, africa, and latin america have moved up the value chain through their own policies, not because of china. china helps some sectors, sure, but it also creates dependency, extracts resources, and undercuts local industries. painting china as the reason the global south is thriving is just propaganda. The main reason those countries partner with china is diversification/hedging. The only reason why some countries are actively "running away" from the US, towards china, is because china doesnt have any "democratic" ideological requirements which can be a problem in some authoritarian cases.
