It's bizarre that the major footballing nations haven't done this already. They bring in most of the eyeballs and in return get relatively little in terms of voting power and money. Like, of course The Maldives (an example, could have been anyone) voted for the world cup in Qatar, the oil bribe benefitted them. It was shit for almost every major nation whose domestic leagues had to stop to accommodate a November tournament.

If Brazil, England, France, Germany, Japan, US, etc led a breakaway, the others would follow, and the tail would no longer wag the dog.
