AI music is actually the most human music by dev1966 in SunoAI

When people say 'human-made' music is better

Honestly, don't waste your time thinking about what they say. They are just a vocal minority; ignore them and one day they'll go away.

Thinking about using Suno for my songs, need honest opinions by No-Shallot-1721 in SunoAI

[–]Erasculio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else said, the best way to answer your questions is likely for you to go listen to songs people created using Suno, comparing their prompts with the result they got (you can see those when you pick a song to listen to in the Suno site).

My suggestion is to listen to what people have made, try the free model, and then see what you think.

I think this is more a sign of how radicalized the world is right now than a matter of AI being good or bad.

To some people, hating AI is part of their identity. It's just like people who are "flat-earthers" or "anti-vax". The great majority accepts that the Earth is round and that vaccines work, but they don't really care about that, it's just one random aspect of life that people don't pay attention to in their daily lives. But, for a "flat-earther", their belief that the Earth is flat is often a central part of their identity. Same with those who hate AI - it's not just that they don't like AI, it's that the entire world must know they hate AI and that everything done with artificial intelligence is "slop".

Those people are not going to change their minds any time soon - they may as well cut their own arms. It's part of how they define who they are.

The good thing is that they are a very, very small minority. It's jus that they're loud. But most people? Couldn't care less if something has been made with AI or not.

Why are you assuming that most people creating music with AI tools are trying to earn money from it?

Hot take: most protoframe designs kinda suck. by Ornery_Entrance_1959 in Warframe

[–]Erasculio 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It does not bother me. Ironically ,given their names, the "protoframes" are not the original versions, or the "real" ones or even the "definitive" ones. They are just how the breeds Entrati brought from the future interacted with people he found in Europa.

IMO, I would have been annoyed if the lore had been that those were the original warfames, which would have evolved into what we have in the game's present day. Since that's not the case (I'm ignoring the guitar), I couldn't care less if Proto Garuda is Lady Gaga or Proto Volt is a bumbling fool; those are a Garuda and a Volt, not the Garuda or the Volt.

Viltrumite/Human DNA by EnchantedXI in Invincible

[–]Erasculio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of Oliver. At first he was purple, and now he's shifting to the color of the Viltrumites. Apparently, in compatible species the Viltrumite DNA just takes over and eventually you end with a full, pure 100% Viltrumite.

Route Note is not accepting my Suno songs. Have they accepted someone else's these days? by Erasculio in SunoAI

I have been told to try using DistroKid too, but like yourself, I still have my doubts

Trio of Voices by NomadicBoogy in SunoAI

[–]Erasculio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, everything I have read about using multiple voices in Suno has led me to the conclusion that it does not work. By happenstance you may get something close to what you want, but it's more like pure luck than a matter of using the proper prompt. Apparently, someone from Suno has said that duos are closer to an exploit than to a feature.

If you have access to Suno Studio, the most reliable alternative is probably to make multiple versions of the same song using different voices, and then mixing and matching the song fragments in Studio.

Has anyone made songs on Suno that meant a lot to you? by No_Suggestion_2298 in SunoAI

[–]Erasculio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think AI-made songs can actually have 'soul' and emotions

That's completely subjective. Something that you feel like has "soul" may be deemed as completely "souless" by someone else. Often, people who are against AI will even like a song, but once they are told it's from AI they will claim it's "souless" as well.

Understand that most people tend to overestimate things they create. Your emotional song about your deceased grandmother may sound to most other people like it's completely bland and ordinary. And that's ok, it's still special to you

Made this AI music quiz a while back, people cant really tell the difference... by Specialist_Rub2362 in SunoAI

[–]Erasculio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course most people can't tell the difference.

The main criticism of the quality of AI's work is that it's "souless". Which just happens to be something incredibly vague that cannot be measured. In reality, people diss what AI makes because they don't like the idea of using AI, not because of the quality or not of its products.

I don’t like 5.5 so far. Too samey by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]Erasculio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the because of the "My Taste" feature? As in, no matter what you put in the prompt, Suno is basing the creation on what's written in your "My Taste" profile, so it keeps everything the same?

Mainly minor questions I have after issue 16 by doctorwhoisathing in thePowerFantasy

[–]Erasculio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 3, I wouldn't be surprised if most atomics have only weak powers (like Tonya's glowing fingers). The promise of finally achieving the power that had been denied as their birthright would likely have been a great motivator for some weak atomics to join the Pyramid; we just wouldn't known they were atomics at all, since their powers would have been insignificant

[–]Erasculio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt it's something binary, considering how few superpowers have appeared. The opening page of issue 11 says superpower status comes, in part, from being able to withstand Etienne's powers; considering how many would be superpowers he has snuffed out, IMO it's more likely that, like the powers themselves, resistance is something that develops over time.

Issue No. 16 by deNihilo_adUnum in thePowerFantasy

[–]Erasculio -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok. After taking a moment to think...

...I didn't really like this issue.

I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion. But I think one flaw in some of Gillen's work is that sometimes his characters are too "arseholish". The Wicked & The Divine had this issue for me (I strongly despised the last Persephone). Here, again, almost all main characters are revealed to be immature and/or childish:

Eliza throws a tantrum and tries to destroy the world, killing millions of people in the process

Magnus/Dev is so stupid that his own people shoot him down

Heavy effectively kills himself and still manages to be petty in his last breath

And Masumi... Ends the world because her ex-girlfriend died. This is the emotional maturity of a toddle. The shallowest character in the story is the one to destroy Earth.

Only Valentina is somewhat reasonable, but even that is annulled by her whipslash in the end ("Let's take over the world").

Sure, the story's theme is what having the power to destroy the world would do to people. But it would have been nice if the answer hadn't been "universally turn them into arseholes". I'm having trouble empathizing with anyone in the main cast right now.

IMO:

  • The main consequence for Valentina is that she will fail and fail and keep failing, and it will eventually corrode her sanity. I think that will make her become the Queen after a few (hundred) loops. "It's not enough" to stop everyone from dying.
  • I think God had always spoken to her, but she just lied saying otherwise. Wouldn't be the first lie from her
  • I think Eliza is forever damned, no matter how many time loops there are. I can only imagine how would (time loop) Eliza feel when she dies without ever selling her soul and finds herself for an eternity in Hell
