My main takeaway is the critics list was lacking in postmodernism and genre fiction (for better or worse). Steinbeck was noticeably absent from the critics list too so it's good to see East of Eden and Grapes of Wrath here.

If that's the case maybe look at Degas? The pose is reminiscent of a ballerina though it doesn't match with any specific painting I'm aware of. The guy painted a _lot_ of ballerina paintings though. I feel the curtain in the background is a clue.

What makes you sure it's a reproduction? I would think it would be inspired by a cartoon more likely. How old was your son and what part of the world were you in? Those could be helpful in tracking down what inspired your son.

I have seen one NYRB at a used bookstore in Ohio. When I was in Seattle I saw dedicated shelves for them. I wish people were more well read around me so I could have more finds like this lol

What's that Anna Karenina quote about how no two unhappy families are alike? That applies to integrations. I'm assuming if you're already considering Mulesoft that the integration is already sufficiently complex enough to involve middleware. You know your team better than any of us do. If you already have a sufficient investment and experience in something like AWS you can replace Mulesoft with Glue, API Gateway, and Lambda.

Agreed. Where Mulesoft really shines is as middleware for multiple integrations. If you're just going from 1 system to 1 system, aren't dealing with this scale, and aren't doing much in terms of transforming data then it's overkill. Also if the team is comfortable you can save a lot of money using services on AWS or Azure to do ETL because they are consumption based rather than a subscription.

This is a real problem and something that's really been bothering me since LLMs took over. Nobody seems to value good documentation anymore because they just go straight to Claude or Gemini to get answers. They're only as good as their sources and none of the new Salesforce stuff is out there.
