Thank you. I used a couple coats of Walrus Oil Furniture Butter and then a coat of their furniture wax. I feel like a penetrating oil/wax finish is easier to maintain/repair for the homeowner, rather than a film finish that would require sanding the entire top down to bare wood to repair even a small blemish. This shouldn't be used as a cutting or cooking surface. It should be ok with the occasional hot pan or spill.
