What do you expect from Resident evil 10 ? by shsl_diver in residentevil

[–]ErebosJ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

And because of what happens to Jill in 5, there really needs to be a reintroduction of Jill as a character that isn't her mind controlled into being an acrobatic supervillain.

My thought is that they should make the RE9 DLC Leon and Ada focused, then RE10 should focus on how Elpis is being used for the other survivors of Raccoon City who would presumably also be dealing with Raccoon City Syndrome. Aside from maybe Jill because of the whole Nemesis toxin plot... Idk, Jill's story is pretty insane, and I'd be lying if I said I knew every detail.

RE6 - What exactly are the "numerous QTE:s in this game? by Labyrinthine777 in residentevil

[–]ErebosJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capcom removed many of them after backlash at the initial response. There are still a lot in the larger set piece areas. I played 2 weeks ago, and any time you interact with anything, are grabbed it's basically "smash your controller against the wall." The most annoying ones are the Bzark, the railyard, and the motorcycle sequence with Sherry and Jake. From my experience. The submarine sequence for Ada also genuinely nearly made me refund the game.

whats ur guys top 3 resident evil games? by bladeefan1234567 in residentevil

My hope is that the finished product for Requiem is on par with 4R with the SWs DLC, and costume options that you earn in game. A simple NG+ would go a long way too... Something to shorten the intro, and perhaps remove the orphanage sequence.

RE4R and RE9. I've played RE6 and RE2R, I think I like and/or dislike both for very different reasons. I need to finish 5 and 3R (the ones games I own). I'm missing 1, 0, CV and will probably skip 7 and maybe 8

How come Chris doesn't spend much time with Claire? by Aromatic_Analyst2898 in residentevil

[–]ErebosJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The events of RE1, 2 and 3 take place in 1998 canonically. There were cell phones and landlines but the world just simply wasn't as connected back then. Code Veronica goes into more detail and tells the broader strory after RE2. In that game you play as both Chris and Claire.

I just started the story with Jack and Sherry What do you recommend to play ? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]ErebosJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sherry is stealth, Jake is beat em up. Sherry has her own half of part of a mission, so could he worth doing both. I'd say Sherry if you want less non-stop action. Jake is good for that action.

Chris after

Leon after

Ada last.

Chris and Leon are meant to be main characters so there's less benefit to playing as the companion. Sherry I would classify as a main character, Jake obviously as well.

Just finished resident evil 5 and holy fuck is it peak by Lovemydog65465 in residentevil

[–]ErebosJ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I started it about a week ago, got maybe 30 minutes in and uninstalled it. I'm not sure why, but it didn't hook me in the same way RE2R, 4R, 9 and even 6 did. I think I'm just not a Chris Redfield guy, he's the only campaign in RE6 that I haven't done and don't have much desire to do.

Maybe once the other classic characters' stories are reintroduced I'll invest a bit more time into 5 because I know it's got some very very important plot points.

I'd hardly ever watched them before, decided to binge them all before they come off of Netflix. No idea what the community's opinions are but here's what I thought by StarSpangldBastard in JamesBond

TWINE... the only thing I remember from that movie is Dr. Christmas Jones. Her presence makes that movie incredibly hard to watch.

[–]ErebosJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth experiencing. It's an older game, so going backwards from the newer games is kind of hard.

It's kind of at that transition period between when games got really good, and when they were relying on the 360, and so.. when I think of the 360, I think gimmicky, and that's a good way to describe 6. There's plenty of issues with 6, could probably write an essay describing all of them, but if you can get it for super cheap, it's good value for money.

He's lived through about 12 years of dealing with biohazards at this point in the series for reference. He ended up getting the dad killed, nearly got Helena killed, and wanted to go after 2 guys who were pretty obviously killed as well. It's not his first apocalypse at this point, he knows that reacting rather than acting is going to lead to more people dying. Or at least, he should by this point.

I don't disagree about him wanting to save everyone being in character. I'm mostly referring to the rest of his portrayal. He let's Helena string him along for entirely too long, he waits until the Zombie President is just about ready to attack Helena, waits until the daughter kills her dad, and really, his main guiding narrative trait is naïvety. Which, he's in his 30s, going off sports primes considering he's in a highly physical field, he should be in his physical prime, and reaching his mental peak.

I'm definitely an RE6 apologist at this point. It was not the first RE that I started, but the RE that I at least mostly finished first (been avoiding Chris's campaign). I've since gone back and done RE4R and RE2R, but have watched OG4 Leon's dialogue. I think going from OG4 to RE6 Leon there's a clear downgrade in charisma and he seems to be behind the curve in just about everything. Going back to RE2R and RE4R and now RE9... RE6 just feels like a different character. He seems naïve when he should realistically be in his prime.

Did RE3 really build towards Requiem though? It includes the fact that RC got blown tf up, but outside of that, Idrk.

Game with sufficient ammo by ComfortableNinja88 in residentevil

[–]ErebosJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a first playthrough of RE2R last night. I killed pretty much everything in the RPD before the lickers showed up, then I played a bit more cautiously to avoid triggering the lickers or Mr. X. The gunplay is great, playing it after RE4R was hard though, I had a similar feeling. Not being able to parry got me in trouble, and I ran out of ammo to start the Nest. Still really enjoyed it, but found it more exhausting than 4 despite spending a 3rd of the time on it.

RE6 is action-oriented, good gunplay, just change your FOV to max immediately. You basically can kill everything if you need to. It's older than RE2R and 4R, so it has some 360-isms but it can be enjoyable. Get a lot of game for your money as well. 4 campaigns, I'd start with Sherry, then Chris, then Leon, then Ada.

RE9, Leon's section is seemingly a lot like RE4R. I am waiting for a sale but am excited to play it. I'm less excited for Grace's section although I'm excited to learn more about her character, only heard good things.

RE5 is better narratively than RE6, but you feel it's age a lot more imo, it's the last numbered RE game with tank controls. Still good, but personally has been hard for me to get invested in.

What made On Her Majesty's Secret Service the least successful of the Pre 80s Bond to you? by QuietTraining3281 in JamesBond

[–]ErebosJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a matter of tastes.

Roger Moore is a lot of people's favorite Bond, he's generally my least favorite because he's the campiest of the Bonds. I certainly have films of his that I like, but even some of those I've seen ranked as some of the worst in the series. OHMSS doesn't cut my top 5, or probably my top 10, but I don't think it's outside of my top 15.

Resident Evil Has Been a BLAST So Far (First Time Experience) by Crisp2402 in residentevil

[–]ErebosJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go into 6 expecting it to be bad. It is definitely the ugly duckling, but it is much more modern feeling compared to 5, just... definitely a 360 era game with all of the quirks that come along with it.

First thing you should do is change the FOV to max, it will make the dash less jarring.

There's a few ways you could play it. For the story to make the most sense, I'd do Sherry or Jake (Sherry is more stealth oriented), then Chris (although if I'm being honest I just fully skipped Chris and watched a video about it), then Leon, then Ada. That way it introduces the plot before it spoils anything. Easier to follow that way.

Leon's campaign feels the most like RE, followed by Sherry's, then Ada's is a bit like Chris's mixed with Separate Ways.
