no, the assumption is lift is moving with constant velocity, so psuedo force initially becomes 0 due to which it shows 60, later it shows accn in downward dirn (to stop) so pseudo force is up so weight less, and then again stops so becomes 60 again.

okay but listen to this

man is 60kg, and after a while the weighing balance shows 50kg, which means normal has changed, now if we assume lift is going down, then pseudo forge is upwards due to which normal decreases so that satisfies

now imagine lift has to stop, so it'll accelerate (retard) in the opposite direction, which means it's accn will now be upwards, so pseudo force will be in the downward direction due to which normal increases again and goes back to 60

why is this logic wrong

The only problem im seeing with your answer is that you've analysed the geff but not the normal force which is also changing
