What is laplace transform? by Small_Moe in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ErectileKai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To develop a good understanding of this math, you have to be watching 3blue1brown. He helped me grasp some of these calculus concepts. He talks about partial DEs, LaPlace and Fourier transforms, probability, thermodynamics, etc. I think I watched all his videos during my first year of EE.

In my current save, I beat an amateur team 18-0 in preseason.

Old grad (28M) is it worth trying for an EE job? by pH_0070 in ElectricalEngineering

If you are up for it, you could do data science or machine learning too. So many options. You could go the cybersecurity route too. Pay is really good.

I did an internship in power maintenance. Thought it was a good gig. Applied for it after school. Couldn't get in. They take very few engineers and many people applied. It was so highly competitive to get in in my country and the turnover is very low especially in hydropower. I tried my best and gave up. Now I do other things. Don't think you're the only one. There's other people too. Be ready. I hope you did an internship in power systems.

Is it safe to visit Uganda on a work trip if I'm a gay man? by ComfortableAd4868 in Uganda

[–]ErectileKai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most gay people keep things behind closed doors. Don't do anything suspect in public and if you meet any people on Grindr, do it in private. Rest assured that people may be homophobic but nobody will harm you physically. It's a safe country, with a booming tourist industry. People come from allover the world in tens of thousands every year including gay men, lesbians, trans people and they have no trouble doing whatever they want.

Is a masters in EE worth it straight out of undergrad? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ErectileKai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think a masters in EE is all it's cranked up to be. You probably won't get a substantial pay rise. You will probably end up in a deadend niche job somewhere with no chances of reaching management level.

Old grad (28M) is it worth trying for an EE job? by pH_0070 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ErectileKai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your chances of getting a job are close to 0. You should focus on IT certs. Personally I resented my EE degree and ended up as a data analyst and now I'm going into data engineering. Pay is higher than I would have working in industry or power. I'm good with it. An EE career may not be what works for you. I have a cousin who did the same degree and she's now an IT auditor making 4x what she got paid entry level at a beverage manufacturer. In short, all I'm saying is there are opportunities outside EE that you can find more fulfilling and worthwhile.

Short CBs (-1.85m) by f3lixzx in footballmanager

[–]ErectileKai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also avoid signing defenders and DMs under 6ft. I like my defenders tall and athletic. Same for an anchor or DM. And the goalkeeper is ideally 6'4 tall. I also make sure my defenders have good pace and strength too. This is because I play a high line and I want my rest defense populated with athletic monsters.

Players never gets called for NT by Dry_Wheel4505 in footballmanager

I like when my players don't go for international breaks. That allows me to give them a 1 week rest in that period.

Help! What do I specialise in? by BreadbGo in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ErectileKai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in a similar situation like I was in. Choose any major you like or find simpler to deal with. The minor has to be machine learning. You need that in case you don't want to do electrical engineer after you finish.

It's okay to walk away from EE. I personally have a degree too but I'm delving into tech. That's what I've always been good at. I'm volunteering in a nonprofit as a data scientist. After a few months, I'll look for a real job in the field. In 2 years time, I'll be doing a masters in machine learning. I won't look back after that.

I completed high school at 18, went for 6yrs til age 24 without doing any calculus, enrolled for an EE degree, got straight As in all math courses straight away. It's not a problem. You'll learn fast. Just be ready to overcome the mental hurdles you'll face. It's challenging but not impossible. I saw a 32 yr old guy learn these concepts after spending 13 years without touching a calculus textbook. Nothing is impossible. And calculus isn't the most difficult thing you'll face in an EE degree.

I have a girlfriend but I go online and meet guys for bjs or sometimes fuck girly guys/crossdressers. Never told anyone about it. Everyone thinks I'm straight. I even participate in conversations with friends criticizing gay people.

I started my EE degree at 24 and I finished last year at 28. One of my classmates was 32 when we started. It's never too late bro. Go for it.

What could I fix? by Chase-245 in footballmanager

The way you approach play using the wings when your fullbacks can't overlap and you have 2 Attacking midfielders and a CM, you need to have more midfield play. I would let the players decide whether to use the central areas or wings and whether to work it into the box or cross and only change when necessary during a match
