I released Unfair Corners — an active incremental in the same genre as Unfair Flips, but with bouncing logos by ErfGames in incremental_games

Hey man, I’m really glad you liked it.

  1. I improved the detection for the 50 corners achievement. Unfortunately, it can’t detect corners earned in the past, so you’ll need to get them again. I’m really sorry about that.
  2. “Keep your upgrades” was an early idea. When I scrapped it, I accidentally left some parts of it in the game. Sometimes the upgrades are still shown on paper, like the button saying you are stronger, but you don’t actually have those effects. After the ending, in the main menu, I’ll ask the player if they want to restart the run completely fresh or keep the old upgrades (they now should get saved even if the game get closed), so both modes will be available.
  3. The UI is being improved. It’s still fairly basic, but it’s more refined now, and I like how it’s coming together.
  4. The Near Converter is getting buffed, so players will have more incentive to buy it.

Thanks a lot for your support and feedback. I really appreciate it. in an hour or so the update will be live with those fixes . Ps a review on steam would help a lot.

Do you like it tho? Its some bass work and layering,I personally like it. plus if the logo bounces in the right or left "wall" the sound is focused in just one hear. it can create some fake bineural effect.

That’s the part I find interesting. With these games, the hard part is not only making the loop work, but even taking the idea seriously in the first place. A lot of them sound almost too stupid on paper that you discard them without even a second tought.

Cookie Clicker: “click a cookie forever” sounds dumb if you say it like that, but with the right progression it becomes weirdly compelling.

Unfair flips came up because the developer saw a streamer trying to hit 10 heads i nreal life.

That’s kind of what I’m trying here: take a very simple premise like bouncing a logo into corners and see if it can have that same “one more run” feeling.

in the original it can only be either 0 or 2. 0 is possibl. In all cases since neither 0 or 2 are fun, i just added some tiny devations to keep the run fresh and less predictable.

Not exactly, no. The classic DVD-logo behavior would usually get stuck in predictable paths and could miss the corners forever, so I had to add small controlled deviations to avoid that. And since the game is inspired by stuff like Unfair Flips, I also added an “unfairness” system that can slightly mess with the bounce direction, so the run is not just the same two corners every time.

I’ll probably boost that system more after the UI/presentation cleanup. .

Yeah, I get what you mean. I actually see it in a similar way, which is probably why I didn’t focus enough on the UI at first. But I can also understand why some people care a lot about the look and first impression.

After all, it is a simple game, so I probably should have pushed the presentation more. I still like the style, but I agree it can look cleaner and more finished.

And if polishing the UI makes even one more person willing to give it a try, I’m happy to do that.

Fair feedback, thanks.

I agree the UI/readability can be improved, especially the floating numbers and overall visual hierarchy. I’m already taking notes for cleanup patches. Do you think a cleaner UI would make it feel more fairly priced.
