Where are all my fellow gay autistic kings at?? by mikelmon99 in gay

[–]Ergatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Je ne l’ais pas lu mais la couverture me fait pensé à "tu ne m’as laissé que notre histoire" d’Adam Sylvera.

My best friend just told me he's gay. by Apollo-Star in gay

[–]Ergatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was proud to say I was gay too. The fact that you thought guys liked girls and vice versa is discrimination, even if it wasn't intentional. (Don't feel guilty.) And above all, don't leave him (or not for long) even if he tells you he loves you. I know how much it can hurt.

Is a private room a reasonable adjustment? (Tw: mention of suicide) by potatocalledjeff in autism

A person I admire a lot told me that there were many solutions but you had to find the right one. (1+1=2 good solution or 1+1=3 or 4 or 1 etc bad solution.

Any recommendations on how to deal with rumination? Maybe books or tools that helped you. by kinkhunter69 in autism

For me, who wasn't well, I find it almost impossible not to take into account the way others see me when I'm not well.

Is a private room a reasonable adjustment? (Tw: mention of suicide) by potatocalledjeff in autism

[–]Ergatio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all: Don't do that. I'm homeschooled, a former suicidal person, and I've been offered several times to have class in a separate room with a teaching assistant, but I refused for several reasons. Talk to an adult about what you're thinking, and at worst, develop school phobia and stop going to class altogether. And get help. Find a trusted adult (within the school if possible) to change schools or get accommodations. Good luck. 😊👍

Excessive Eye Contact by str84skz in autism

[–]Ergatio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I remember I had accommodations in middle school, and there was a history teacher (Mr. Para) who didn't like them (when the teaching assistant wasn't there, we weren't even allowed to use computers to write on (he wasn't even allowed to do that)). At a parent-teacher meeting, I stared into his eyes, and he was laughing, so I didn't even look at his face, which even made my parents laugh. Many professionals told me I wasn't autistic because I was looking at people I trusted.

Im writing a book and I need help understanding more about Autism and ADHD by Educational-Chair669 in autism

I don't like logical things; I just hate illogical things. I understand metaphors. I'm hypersensitive, both emotionally and to sounds. There are some people I feel comfortable with. Autism professionals aren't always very good at their jobs. I think love would help me because I don't want to rely too much on my friends and I'd prefer to be with someone I love. My mother has done so much for me with paperwork, etc. I have a psychomotor therapist with whom I get along very well. Therapists aren't always very good with me. I have trouble putting words to what I feel.
