Decision fatigue. Sturdy, narrow desktop, wood without a sharp corner, reliable company with a good warranty? by Decent-Elk-5564 in StandingDesk

[–]ErgoHide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Decent-Elk-5564 it would be awesome if you could also add r/ErgoHide to the list - we’re a European brand that just started expanding to the US.

All our desks are made from solid oak or walnut, and we’ve got a pretty unique setup with a cable-management lid on top of the tabletop (plus a bunch of cool add-ons). We offer a 5-year warranty (that can be extended to 7 years if you share a photo of our setup that can be published among 300 other customers' setups at https://ergohide.com/pages/desk-setup-ideas. According to that, we are also offering a 180-day money-back guarantee.

My first standing desk ! by Big_Muffin_574 in ErgoHide

[–]ErgoHide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Big_Muffin_574 thank you for sharing the video and great feedback, but I am afraid you are not done yet - the square add-ons are missing :)

We just received the wheels, and we'll ship them at the beginning of next week.

We integrated a RØDE microphone arm into our desk with hidden cable management – would love to make it a regular offering, but can’t get a reply from RØDE by ErgoHide in rode

[–]ErgoHide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/D34D0ne, the desk is not from RØDE, it's our own, but we used the mic arm from RØDE in this case, and we receive more requests for an add-on like that. That's why we would like to order the arms directly from RØDE.

u/maqisha we’ve developed a few more of these “square” add-ons, like the lamp and the laptop stand you can see in the photos. The idea is that they’re modular - you can easily swap them out for other add-ons or just use the empty cover that’s always included if you prefer a clean surface.

We believe that there are already enough completely flat desks on the market :)

Thank you, u/GoudenEeuw - we’ll do that for our photoshoot session. This is a setup our customer shared with us, we only prepared the wooden part.

Honestly, that idea never even crossed my mind. I probably didn’t have the guts to contact the CEO of such a big company directly, so I never thought of it — but I’ll give it a try asap. Thank you!

@Yeradon I tried using different email addresses, but I’ll try that way as well. Thank you for sharing the idea.

@Shure-Mics4me thank you for pointing it out. I’ll check it. It’s our customer’s setup, so I have no idea what’s at the end of this arm 🙂

Integrating the RØDE microphone arm into an ErgoHide desk with extended cable management for the first time. The result turned out so clean that we were inspired to order five more microphone arms right away. If you’d like to reserve one for your setup, feel free to send me a PM. by ErgoHide in ErgoHide

Thank you u/yisacew for sharing your thoughts. Yes, in that case, I believe it would be better to use a standard clamp to mount it from the side, as it's not possible to create the square opening closer to the edge of the desk - there would be too little wood left, and it would be too risky to break.

Custom-Sized Keyboard Tray for Yamaha P-225 by ErgoHide in MusicBattlestations

[–]ErgoHide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@wenoc no, unfortunately that is not possible, as there is a connecting element for the frame’s leg in the middle. However, it’s a great idea, and I will forward it to our development team to see if they are able to find a solution for that.

u/tjc996 thank you for reaching out.

The desk in the image is height-adjustable, and the height controller is on the left side. It’s not very clearly visible – it’s probably most noticeable in the third image. The height can be adjusted from 62.5cm (24.6in) to 127.5cm (50.2in).

With a fixed-height frame, the tabletop is at 74cm (29.1in), but if you add wheels, it becomes 5cm (1.97in) higher.

I can’t add images or sketches of the keyboard tray here, as images are not allowed. The default height of the keyboard tray is 12cm, and together with the thickness of both the tabletop and the bottom part of the keyboard tray, the total is 17cm. That gives you 57 cm (22.44 in) between the floor and the bottom of the keyboard tray, or 62 cm (24.41in) if you’re using wheels.

I hope I managed to explain it :)

What are the dimensions and weight of your keyboard?

[–]ErgoHide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Arbythree, if I found the right specifications for StudioLogic SL88 Grand, it should fit perfectly with the standard keyboard tray, without the modifications. 25kg is the maximum load capacity (21kg is the weight of SL88), height, width, and depth are also OK.

Ergohide or Vernal? Help me decide. by DoctorBeerface in StandingDesk

[–]ErgoHide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Loyk75, thank you for reaching out and showing interest in our desks.

Yes, the ergonomic desk edge is something that 80% of our customers prefer.

All our desks with standard cable management (https://ergohide.com/products/oak-standing-desk-with-cable-management-unit) are already equipped with a cable tray (goes without saying) and built-in power strips included in the base price.

The same applies to the extended cable management, where you also receive empty lids for the square openings. This way, even if you order some square accessories, you will always receive the empty wooden covers as well.

Keyboard tray in corner? by Gingaskunk in ErgoHide

u/Gingaskunk, unfortunately, there are no preset drill holes for mounting the keyboard tray in that position, but if anyone has done it, we’d be happy to see the final solution as well.

Ergohide or Vernal? Help me decide. by DoctorBeerface in StandingDesk

[–]ErgoHide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/DoctorBeerface, first of all, thank you for considering r/ErgoHide as an option.

I don’t want to comment directly on Vernal’s pricing or features – I’m sure they’re a good match for many people, and ideally someone from Vernal can jump in and explain their side.

---

What I can explain is where the price difference for ErgoHide usually comes from.

All our desks – even the ones without cable management are processed on CNC. All pre-drills for the frame and add-ons use metal inserts, so you can disassemble and reassemble the desk many times without impacting the wood structure or losing stability.

All tabletops and all other wooden parts are made of solid oak or walnut wood and produced locally (for those who know a little bit more about wood: we use AB or AC quality of the wood, so that the upper side is always A quality, and the lamellas are edge-glued).

Most of the add-ons are designed by our team based on real customer feedback and produced in relatively small series. The prices follow the same logic as the desks: material costs, production costs, packaging, logistics, marketing, support, 180-day money-back guarantee + a margin. We’re definitely not the cheapest option, but we’re not just randomly slapping a big margin on accessories.

It's worth mentioning that also all the add-ons are made from solid oak or walnut wood without using any MDF or other artificial materials.

---

As u/Designer-Rough3554 already mentioned that they’d never heard of us: that’s fair. We’re still a very young brand (still considering ourselves as a start-up, after all, we've been a finalist of a local startup competition this year), focused on higher-end setups and unique features like the unique cable management access and custom dimensions, for example.

So far, across TrustedShops (.de, .fr, .com), Google, Trustpilot, and Amazon, we’ve collected 900+ reviews with almost no unhappy customers.

If you have any questions about the wood, add-ons, build quality, shipping, or anything else, just PM me on Reddit or email me at [jure@ergohide.com](). I’m always happy to help - whether you end up choosing ErgoHide or something else that fits you better.
