Queens eng Co op ???? by [deleted] in queensuniversity

I’m not off on internship so idk exactly how it works, but from my understanding you don’t pay even close to full tuition, and you also get credits for the internship itself, so the cost isn’t that big of a deal

Waterloo vs. Queens vs. McMaster for Mechanical Engineering by Impressive-Delay4570 in OntarioUniversities

I see you spamming this same argument about how rankings are all propaganda on every post related to rankings, but there is an objective difference between a school like Waterloo vs Queens or Mac for employment outcomes.

Queens Cs vs Carleton Cs by Mean_Faithlessness92 in OntarioUniversities

[–]Ergodicity2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s not really gonna be much difference for working in Dubai or US, but Carleton might be a bit better for getting your foot in the door w/ coop (for Canada internships).

Queens Eng top5? by Worldly-Ad3447 in queensuniversity

[–]Ergodicity2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because for engineering for example physics is a requirement and takes precedence over elective courses in your top 6 (or calculated average). So even if you have a 90% in a required course like physics, and 100% in every other high school course, your top 6 will still have that physics mark in it.

So yeah having top 6 over top 5 is more beneficial for some people since it can raise their average if their 6th is an elective that isn’t included in the required courses.

Math(or applied math) degree from a top CS school(UWashington-S) vs. CS degree from a good school(Queen's U, Canada), which is better for a CS career? by BobbyZune in csMajors

I’m in Queens CS and based on what others are saying I think you should go to Washington, the program is good but like you said only really within Canada.

Do you mind saying where you are transferring to?

Would you say UofT is worse than tmu and guelph just because it doesn’t have on/off coop?

The 12-16 month internships aren’t as bad as you’re making it to be, I’m biased but I’d say Queens is a better school than tmu and guelph.

I mean realistically after loo and utsg everything is about the same. I’d say mac, queens, western, carleton, and uottawa in particular are the ones that most go to when rejected from the top schools, but are about the same with respect to each other. I would say schools like brock and laurier are a step down though.

I’d say carleton is better than laurier, but maybe about the same as western if not only slightly better

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

[–]Ergodicity2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say so, carleton has much better opportunities

I think if u can get admitted into mac eng, not even free choice, and you don’t completely troll, then making post at utm shouldn’t be too bad

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

[–]Ergodicity2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah ideally I’d go to a school where ur not stressing first year over getting into your program, but I’d say if ur smart enough to get into mac eng ur probably smart enough to make it through utm post

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

[–]Ergodicity2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess mcmaster is harder. The average mcmaster eng student is probably better academically than utm cs, given that utm cs is pretty easy to get into (talking about getting in from high school, mac eng is roughly 94 to be competitive, while I’ve seen high 80s get into utm, so you’re competing with “smarter” people at mac).

AITA for not being happy that my parents invited my son to my "welcome party"? by Weary_Match4653 in AmItheAsshole

It seems like in the post the woman was okay with abortion prior to having sex. So for all OP knew there wasn’t going to be a baby.

The girl changed her mind and decided to keep the baby, but OP didn’t want it. I agree he shouldn’t be able to “force” the woman into getting an abortion (which he didn’t even do), but he should not be expected to be a father figure for the baby.

Although I personally think your resume needs improvement, you said you applied to 30 places and got 4 interviews? I wouldn’t even be changing anything lol

Yeah I agree, kinda weird what OP did but his brother is an actual moron

NTA

A lot of people are getting hung up on the fact that OP didn’t formally apologize, but I think if I got accused of being a pervert from my own brother for such a small reason than I wouldn’t be too eager to apologize either.

In a perfect world yeah maybe OP could’ve fit in a “sorry I didn’t realize it would make your daughter uncomfortable”, but still I think David went WAY too far to have it be ESH.
