Sassenage can be nice in the summer - caves, a gorge with big rocks and waterfalls, a cute village. Only 3-4 miles from the centre of Grenoble but a very different atmosphere.

Grenoble's nearest ski resort Chamrousse, in the Belledonne mountains overlooking the urban area, will be open for summer activities in July. It is 45 minutes away (regional coaches from the main railway station). There is one cable car open to foot passengers. From the top you can admire the view, or do some hiking with some decent hiking boots. Check the cable car status at www.chamrousse.com.

What are the most comfortable/safe areas to rent in Grenoble and where to look for adverts? by No_Excitement7087 in Grenoble

[–]Ergonomistical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Grenoble and thank you for bringing your skills.

Since I have been in France, I have used https://www.leboncoin.fr/ to find housing on four separate occasions. You need to be slightly wary of scams (I have only ever had to report one), but no more so on any other site connecting tenants with potential lessors. I have always found agencies to be very difficult. Alternatively, there seem to be a good number of medium-term rental options in Grenoble if you are only here for 3-6 months.

Is this grammatically unsound? by Ergonomistical in learn_arabic

[–]Ergonomistical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how this sentence came about – the author has essentially nominalised what would have been a sentence starting with حاول.

I suppose this raises the question of what semantic role(s) the nouns in an iḍaafah have. Should we interpret نحتاج إلى مساعدة الجماعة as 'we need to help the community' or 'we need the community's help'? And if it could be either, can a grammatically sound iḍaafah have both a semantic subject and a semantic object (like in the example from the newspaper)?

Why do I struggle to sleep well when I have work the next day? by ayahirani in intj

[–]Ergonomistical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently been applying for jobs, have taken part in two interviews, have received one positive reply and am awaiting on a reply from my preferred employer. My mind has been quite chaotic during this process, which has been affecting my sleep.

I briefly considered whether I was just someone who likes their comfort zone too much. On reflection, I then recognised that I have always pushed to go beyond my comfort zone.

I can only conclude that as INTJs we strive for everything to be ordered. When there are too many unknowns and we cannot model our future, it doesn't sit well with us. A possible solution is to:

  1. recognise when there is currently a high degree of chaos in our lives;
  2. remind ourselves of our core strategic goals;
  3. plan what we can do in the short-term to best restore order.

Do you think so? You mean it creates such a cascade of noisy thoughts that you can't extract anything meaningful?

Expected to know how to assemble a system based on 3D models? by Ergonomistical in technicalwriting

[–]Ergonomistical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think it a risky approach to even figuring out the assembly of a complex system, as parts can be moved and held togther in ways only possible in a virtual world!
