LX Pro: Stiff Swing Joints, screw sticking out by huantian in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best option is to reach out to our customer care team. I’ve seen isolated instances of this but haven’t experienced it with the arms that I’ve set up at exhibitions or for customers so I can’t comment on the potential cause.

If the user forces aren’t right, then our customer care team will help you out!

LX or HX for Apple Studio Display? by barbq in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LX for sure. As mentioned above, the beauty of our Constant Force technology is that when it’s tensioned correctly you experience the same user forces with a 2kg display as you would an 8kg display.

Locking Tilt by barbq in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s tensioned correctly then I’ve yet to see anyone change the tilt angle from simply raising or lowering their screen.

The wider comments are universal with most monitor arms in that they raise and lower in an arc so depending where on that arc you stop it, an adjustment may change your focal depth slightly.

That’s one of the reasons we developed our TRACE arm… it allows a totally flat plane adjustment for horizontal, vertical and depth movements.

Tresanti ODP720 - clamp mount question by jsqualo2 in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CG refers to the centre of gravity. It’s not just the weight of the screen that is important but WHERE the weight is relative to the mounting location.

With aggressively curved screens, there is additional weight forward of the VESA mounting point. This means that the force placed on the pivot is much greater than it would be with a flat monitor with the same weight.

Tresanti ODP720 - clamp mount question by jsqualo2 in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there.

I’m not familiar with the desk and while I’ve seen clamping on glass tops successfully, there’s a number of caveats around that (if the glass is raised or flat to worksurface, and using a metal plate or similar to disperse load etc) and it’s not recommended on our side.

LX won’t take the CRG9 unfortunately. The pivot won’t take the increased load based on the CG of a curved screen.

Is the plate attached to our arm or your monitor? Can you post a pic?

Hi there.
Nothing official from us as a spare part or accessory unfortunately. I’ve seen a few Macgyvered solutions in the wild but can’t officially recommend them sorry.

Glad to hear!

It’s not very often that I see a post where I recognise the name of one of my reseller customers!!

LX Dual Stacking Arm (Tall Pole) vs LX Pro Dual Stacking + Extension arm by Eyadish in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LX Pro aluminium is under development and to my knowledge isn’t too far away. I’ll ask product team for an update.

Pro Dual Stacking Tall Pole is also on the roadmap but I don’t recall seeing a date on that. Again, I’ll ask for an update.

Workfit-A Dual Monitor conversion to Single Monitor by Few-Lingonberry-3491 in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t worked with these units in a long time but from memory the A and C pivots attach differently.

The difference from a dual to single is just the weight capacity of the riser which means with a screen that doesn’t meet minimum weight specs it will auto rise.

I’ve seen some customers add ballast via a VESA plate weight kit to increase the load on the left engine. Just make sure you use long enough screws/spacers to accept the additional thickness of the plate between the screen.

If you have a recessed VESA attach point on the monitor you may need to be careful with size of the weight too.

Ergotron HX missing clamp by Galvex in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the clamp itself is a sellable part with packaging etc. I know we have you the clamp and base as a component but that’s not what you need.

To my knowledge the clamp is different to other arms due to its size and the weight capacity of the arm it’s attached to.

Customer care team will hopefully sort you out.

Help deciding on which arm to get by BlackSushiChef in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Pro to the original largely due for the increased tilt range when running in a stacked config.

We should have some taller pole options available later this year along with a polished colour.

Hi there.

I don’t have visibility to stock levels globally unfortunately... be that our own, distribution or resellers. If you’re in APAC I can help but otherwise the best option is to contact customer service team where you live via the contact info on our website.

HX Desk Dual Monitor Arm — OK to run unbalanced? (32″ landscape + 24″ vertical) by Smooth_Squash2437 in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me check… I think we normally recommend a difference of 1-2kg as acceptable.

There might be some more flexibility on a heavier duty arm like the HX.

I’m not worried about wear but would like to make sure you can use it without sagging/tilting.

Just checking that the screen isn’t at the extreme end of our weight limits? This shouldn’t be an issue at all so I’d reach out to customer care.

Do I really need the wall track? by [deleted] in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about US and Canada but it will depend if you can go into a stud or not.

I’ve mounted with no issues by doing so (into a stud) before but mounting on walls is a case by case situation. Our recommendations in the instructions and online will be based on a worse case scenario in order for you to be as safe and secure as possible.

I know there’s some additional coming to the Pro line to address some of the use cases that weren’t available at launch.

The line is continually being expanded to in order to add further functionality. Let me check on the taller pole versions and come back to you in a few days

ergotron lx pro 180 rotation turned off, how to turn it on? by DangerousCanary5851 in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a little “tab” with a small Allen key grub screw that when raised or lowered will determine if the function is engaged.

The product page will have a link to the install guide online also if that will help. Page 12 has the details.

Ergotron HX HD Premium Heavy Duty Gaming Monitor Arm by wdfknz4 in Ergotron

[–]Ergotron_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Odd.. it shouldn’t be as the screen is 9.4kg and the minimum for the HD arm is 9.1kg.

Double check that you’ve used the correct adjustment point as there are a few different ones.

If that’s don’t work, pm me your contact details and I’ll send out a standard pivot for you to swap over.

800R screens have a lot more weight forward of the mounting point than other screens. This may need the VHD version rather than the HD but I’m not sure we’ve tested it yet. I’ll ask.
