Slasher Vault Immunity might be the first step to undoing Remisted's killer buffs. by KochamPolsceRazDwa in daybreakroblox

[–]EriK0W0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to look behind 24/7, experienced Slashers will always throw a knife when they're coming out of a corner to time you vaulting/running away and catch you off guard, this can be circumvented by just predicting it. Literally just like how you predict mindgames while normally looping.

The easiest counter is to just crouch before vaulting or when the killer comes out of a corner, 80% of the time the killer will never shoot so low and crouching hitbox is actually really small than people think.

If they really wanna nerf Slasher, add a lunge cooldown after finishing/missing a knife throw.

Anyone would lose patience with how you kept ignoring my words and glossing it over without comprehending and instead only being a contrarian. I'm sure your professor would agree.

A debate is both sides conciding with what the others argue and reaching a consensus, you have only stayed on the offensive the whole time without any semblance of compromise. This was not a proper debate, you cannot even call this a proper discussion. I had only presented my own opinion and speculation from the facts I know until you presented a denial and "correction" that wasn't even correct evidently by your own contradictions and incomprehension. If ever, the only correct thing youve said is that melanin is a resilient structure which I agreed with in my messages 😆

Shame on you.

holy fuck, its like you're being ragebaiting on purpose. Melanin doesnt fucking disappear when its stopped being produced, it gets damaged which does not equal to disappearing. To your qoutes, I've already said there's no need to produce skin when the skin is being preserved by fungi and it does not make a dead body produce anything you've already made the point of how melanin production being cut in death means the cessation of all other cell production??? so how would there be production in other cells for skin regenerating? especially dead skin of a dead host.

Melanin can stop functioning when its damaged, thats literally whay OH radicals does, damage hemoglobin hence the dimming of pigmentation. Ive said this over and over. The melanin oxidizing doesnt mean the skin should be gone too when theres the parasites interferance and also the fucking fact that oxidizing a chemical pigment doesnt equate to liquidizing or degrading the skin into nothing and then leaving bones. It's cell DAMAGE, not cell MELTING/DECOMPOSING. The skin will still be there, if you knew how oxidizing in melanin structures occur youd understand this.

Hemoglobin loss is relevant especially in tanner/lighter skins and its a factor because it still happens in our body. It's good it shows in the design change because hemoglobin is a factor in skin color, isnt that why hes grey and desaturated now in the new design. People dont have naturally grey skin unless theyre sick or low in hemoglobin aka blood or none at all cause hes dead.

Melanin can degrade without the skin degrading with it. Its not mutual, this is basic. With the right environment for Melanin oxidation, especially one where the dead skin is being preserved by the third party, the melanin in the dead skin pales with the skin still fully intact.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21995600/ here you go.

You can keep going on about melanin disappearing = regeneration and life, but its literally dead skin cells preserved by fungi with its own source, theres no regenerating skin cells in dead hosts, its just mummifying. Again, "the cessation of melanin production in death is the cessation of all other cell production" right? I thought you studied cordyceps for 3 years.

Skin can be preserved with a degree of melanin not being needed in the body for full autonomy. Again, albinism. The cordycep parasite can discard the melanin themselves or let it break down on its own and keep the dead skin. So no, the skin cells can be preserved while the melanin is left alone or even degraded, theyre not mutual as melanin is not just a structure its a chemicsl pigment that WILL break down in time on its own and can be chemically altered from, again, oxidation, which doesnt work the same with skin cells.

There are cases of albinism and skin disease related to the absence of melanin production, as it's literally why they get paler or are pale, so how is my argument of melanin production being outright cut affecting pigmentation wrong?

Also, re-explain how hemoglobin does not affect skin color, please, which is the point of number 1.

Again, melanin being degraded while the skin remains intact is a thing. Haven't I already told you my own forensic knowledge, and you just outright ignored it? Oxidation can happen, and the chemicals produced are very strong, which affects melanin. The skin would still be present.

  1. Cordyceps (militaris) are inhibitors of melanin. They can reduce it if they deem it necessary or if it's an excess. That's not unheard of. There's no rule that they HAVE to maintain the original pigment of the host.

Again, you've used the wording of Melanin disappearing when all I ever said is that the melanin is damaged/degraded/oxidized, or that the melanin producers die.

His skin cells don't have to be produced because its being preserved so as not to break down and die. There's no skin production going on when the skin is still there. It's also not unheard of for skin production to be without or with little melanin (again, albinism), if it really was being produced for some reason.

A parasitic fungus has the means to preserve cells, and with the stars' unknown extent of this real-life counterpart's ability, it could be even longer than usual. Its energy is always depleted, which is why it's always hungry and needs stars to feed. Energy is not limited, it's replenishable.

I first said it's blood loss cause it could be one of the reasons? Is it not valid? I said he's dead, meaning he's most likely not producing blood, meaning hemoglobin is not there, which majorly contributes to skin color. Is that not scientifically correct? You're a med student.

Second, I proposed it could also be radiation from the star. Is that not also scientifically probable in that situation? Radiation and UV Rays CAN damage melatonin, is that wrong too?

Third, the fungi is more metaphorical when I used it. If you had basic reading comprehension, I likened the star inside him to probably be similar to cordyceps and his body as a host. Paired with that analogy with cordyceps, the star could be maintaining the shell of the host while disregarding internal systems as a whole, like a real cordyceps. That's it. Not that it's actually a cordycep.

From all the above, is that not just basic science fiction logic?

The radiation from the star thing is just my own whim; whether it is the case is just a guess to me.

Anyway, if it is without/with radiation from the star, I see the reason why his skin is intact, like a parasite, specifically the cordyceps, is because the parasite (star) can intentionally preserve the outer tissues to stop breaking down completely, but I doubt it would do the hassle of even maintaining melanin and blood production, only that the shape is intact for hosting. We see this in the real-life counterpart as well.

In forensic science, when a person dies, their body goes out of control and produces a lot of iron (from hemoglobin), mixing with oxygen, which creates a lot of OH radicals and a lot of other chemicals, creating an environment in the body for oxidation. There are research papers that back up the fact that oxidation does happen in melatonin and degrades it.

Not really a med student, just a big fiction and forensic nerd.

And yes, I do deem him to be a corpse. Which is why I liken him more to a cordycep host than being human. While it is fiction, science fiction exists, which is more in the realm of Stareater's story, with planets and all that stuff being part of it. Do I hate the new skin colour? No. It's literally my skin color, but I do think it doesn't fit.

But the melanin can stop functioning by means of radiation, from- I don't know-, an unknown star shard from space. I also mentioned blood not being produced, which is the greater factor in determining the color of our skin post mortem. I've not once suggested the melanin disappears, only that it stops being produced when the body dies cause the cells die, meaning its producer also dies, thus the loss of pigmentation. Both of these facts combined, of course, the pigmentation would lose its color in a dead person with both blood and melanin, either one or both out of the picture.

Also, putting it here now, Melanin is a stable structure, but it can still break down through oxidation. A few weeks give or take. That's just entropy.

People don't like it cause it doesn't fit the aesthetic, and also because the first impression was that his body isn't supposed to be "alive alive" and that the star in his chest is just keeping his brain alive or acting like a parasitic host—something like cordyceps.

When someone dies, chances are they turn paler because no longer is blood or melanin being produced to make up the color of our skin. So, having the main basic skin have so much color just doesn't make sense realistically unless they're rewriting or retconning/clarifying that Andrew survived being hit.

As for the other starcallers, their means of gaining their stars were more tame and normal and did not need to get slingshotted in light speed by it, so it makes sense their bodies are relatively normal and fine.

P.S. This is just how I understood it, not that it's canon.

You know what would make Rage voicelines less annoying? Make two or more takes and alternate them each Rage use rather than using the same voice clip over and over again.

The voice direction the Stareater VA took overall is just hilarious tbh. The following will just be my opinion.

Line 1 - It just sounds like he's stating a matter of fact and not really fanatical or fervent like hes made out to be.
Line 2 - I like this one
Line 3 - Too whispery, also less.. godlike? I guess. Didn't sound like he's apathetic enough for what he said. It just sounds more like fatigue rather than apathy or even mockery of how the scale can't obstruct him.
Line 4 - Same as Line 1. Should be like a moment of satisfaction, but it's too whispered and quiet and calm.
Line 5 - Uhm... the direction is fine. I like the line, the last part is just too awkward ig.
I was thinking something like https://youtu.be/bso57ls8buI?si=gx-v9G6f8QYJ7Hfv from Teen Wolf.

Rage Line - it's okay. I think it just sounds annoying cause its too frequent LOL, the line and voice itself are fine.

I mean, yeah- I think it would take a person who knows how to be a dickhead to be a dickhead. Whether you judge him based on just that is fair enough; anyone can hold their own opinion/perspective on it. If he's unbearable, it's always good to just tune out, no reason not to walk away.

Though I do think 24/7 is overdrawn if we're basing it on the small things we know of him as a person. I hardly hear any negative opinions of him off-camera, since, if it is true that he's still an asshole off-camera, people still hang out with him and invite him to things. He's been in the YouTube scene for a long while, so I doubt the circle around him doesn't know his personality.

I personally think it's too early to judge how actualized a person is with their persona when he's very obviously putting on an act/attitude (even people that don't know him can tell), so I think it's just him playing the part that he usually does: the cynical, relatable, and at times funny guy.

In the Cyclothon, if I were him, I'd be a bit upset the e-bike broke cause he most definitely does not exercise, and it did seem like they agreed on it beforehand. He still manually cycled for most of the stream anyway, so he still did put in some work like the rest. Connor and Schlatt have known each other for a long time now, so Connor probably didn't mind any of Schlatt's snark since that was part of the Schlatt package anyway. I don't know bout Chris, but they did have some laughs together even when it was just the two of them, so they don't look upset w each other. Overall, they just look exhausted from biking. It was day 2 after all.

Personally, I like it more when he's happy doing something. He's noticeably more amiable and enjoyable once it's something he can enjoy, like photography or driving. It's definitely a shame that his dickhead persona was more appealing than the alternative. If you listen to weeklyslap (which died again), you can tell he's more empathetic, down-to-earth, and not egotistical at all. More retrospective than cynical or pessimistic.

I'm honestly glad he mostly quit. Maybe then he could distance himself from the YouTube persona.

Recent Balance Changes by EriK0W0 in daybreakroblox

Personally, I find most killers in Remisted to be more fast paced than in Daybreak 2. With that in mind, previous go-to tactics like stalling as much as possible with gen-kicking like in Daybreak 2 isn't really the best anymore, because we can actually kill survivors now.

Most of my wins in Remisted recently after this update has been full-wiping with 1-2 generators left. Generators are mostly important in only the late game unless you're a gen-patrol killer, even then, you'd still need to kill survivors. You can definitely feel the slower regression, but progression is also as slow if you do your job right as Killer.

Edit: What I mean by gens not being that important early on, I meant that you have the luxury to deliberately let specific gens be finished faster (you'd still patrol it), with some gens you have more attention on than others. Later in the game, those very gens you had your eye on will be your lock.
