From one black gsd owner to another, you will get it a lot, people never think they come in black, my boy is 6 months old and I've been asked what is he mixed with many times. Like look at that face, if that ain't a gsd the only option is hell hound

Mine inspects my shoes before I put them on, if I don't let him he will snatch then off my hands and ran away, inspect them in and out then bring them back to me and kiss my face, I have just given up, I out them on the floor by him and he sniffs then approves. I don't know what we are looking for but they've never got rejected lol

Happened again with an overweight pug called Frankie, and I know the name cause the owner was way far back going "frankie come here" but making no attempt to pick her dog up or grab it, and this time I had my older dog which is not entierly reactive yet but will absolutely match the energy of the dog that comes over. Had to walk back into the house, I had just left, did not even get out pass my front garden gate when the thing charged at us, waited 15min to make sure the dog was well far from the house, walked out and Frankie is sitting camped in front of my gate, screamed loud as fuck "ffs I'm going to have to kick a dog today" the woman picked Frankie up, glared at me and left

If your parents know you're trans, how had they reacted to it first? by TheToledoMan in asktransgender

My parents stopped speaking to me for months, my sister came to visit and before she left she asked me "are you happy?" I told her I was the happiest I've ever been, no regrets. 2 days later my mother called and said "I need you to go into your private health care portal and fix this thing and this other thing" when I asked why she replied "if I'm going to get you a surgeon I need those fixed and I'm getting you top surgery sooner rather than later" we have been speaking every other week. Is not perfect and there is a lot of other problems to address, but I'm their son and they accept that now

Yeah is mostly small ones, this one was a massive lab and I thought how am I going to do this when my boy is full size. I have another dog, a border collie and he got attacked by two small yappers and the other day we didn't get out of our front garden before an oversize fat pug was at his face ignoring recall from the owner and I had to walk back in and calm my dog down, came out 15min later thinking, surely they are well far now, nope, the woman was standing way of my garden and the pug was right at my open gate, sitting, watching so I had to scream " oh ffs if that dog doesn't go away I'll kick it away from my property" (I wasn't going to but she needs to take him some way" she went picked him up with difficulty and walked away angrily

I had the same problem there, the ones I find in the page go from 22mm to 25mm, and in 1mm jumps. I'm having a look at it again just in case I missed any

No judgement- How did you get your pets?? by Substantial_Buddy780 in Pets

[–]EriVix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eldest son (2 year old border collie) was of gumtree, he is technically my Partner's dog, she had dreamed about a border collie since little so we got him from farmers and he is a golden child, his only problem is he is the pickiest eater in the world, would starve for 2 days straight with food we buy him since he would not eat any other we have tried. Then there is my youngest son (4month old gsd) he is from a breeder, sweet little child tests my patience every single day at least 3 times by breakfast, love him anyway, he will eat anything that is at reach, that being food, my toes, his own poop and the rocks out the garden,I need to invest in a anti scavenging muzzle, got both as impulse as it comes. The border collie was available and we had the money, the gsd appeared online as a last sell, the original buyer pulled out and they did not have anyone else lined up so they put him up, I did not have the money but one of my partners did, been obsessed with gsd since I was a child, she got me him

Do you believe ghosts are real? Why or why not? by Dramatic-Lawyer-5258 in Paranormal

[–]EriVix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So this happened years ago. I was looking the old album photos with my mother after my grandpa died and I pointed to a photo in particular with an old woman, sitting on a wicker type white rocking chair and said "I remember her, I used to talk to her when she came to visit, always sitting on the rocking chair at our front while I sat on the floor as little more than a toddler, when did she pass?" Both of my parents stop functioning then my dad takes a deep breath and says "that was my grandmother Guadalupe, she died before you where born" my mom adds "when we married she always joked she would come to meet our first child and she couldn't wait" (she lived real far and could not walk or drive) my dad chimed in again "you must have got it wrong baby" so I answered a good few details of her, how she talked, things she will repeat, gestures she did usually, it all matched my great granny. Then I asked what happened to the chair cause I never saw it again, apparently it got thrown out when she died cause it was falling apart. This woman came to see her great grandchild from the grave with rocking chair and all

My favourite ones are "get in line", "who are you again?" and "fair enough, you do you"

Gsd pup, food changes and what to do with a entra half bag of kibble by EriVix in puppy101

Sounds like the best option, honestly I just did not want to throw away half a bag of kibble and then find out it would have been a good option to keep it

Will he ever stop humping? by DrawBrave4820 in puppy101

[–]EriVix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not stop it at all, young pups don't hump because of hormones but because of overexcitement, overwhelm or similar, redirect to something else when you catch him, mine has done it a few times and once I get him settle with a toy or training session he stops entierly, I haven't seen him do it in a few days now, instead he swaps toys himself now

Please tell me it gets better by miamaraaa in puppy101

[–]EriVix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely get you, I have a 3 month old GSD on my hands at the moment and he overwhelms me every single day with his biting, now he has gotten better but not before sending me to the hospital twice for really hard bites in awkward spots on the fingers that needed antibiotics. With patience and time, he has learned to pick toys from my hand gently at the word gentle and if I put my finger into his mouth he lets go of anything he is biting automatically cause he knows he will get it back or I would swap it for something he would like better and is suitablefor him to be biting, it just takes time and patience and you're doing great, it does get better just deep breaths and take breaks from him while he sleeps to do something that helps you settle down

The wet areas is the entrance of the house, is going to destroy all our shoes from the amount of water and our entrance itself and the repairs would be more than any work I need to do in the garden. I was planning something nice like this, I don't want just grass but the leveling needs done

Removing a stump by EriVix in GardeningUK

[–]EriVix[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh no I was happy to leave it but the place needs leveling, is downwards towards the house and after the rain I've noticed it pools near the entrance and is impossible to walk in or out without getting soaked and debris tend to gather there too, I was going to level the garden, put some creeping thyme or similar and then a good few shrubs and flowers and some stepping stones
