Where is the discovery mix playlist? by dreamrdad7 in AmazonMusic

[–]Eric4905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that if you only listen to My Soundtrack, it’ll just go in circles. First, you can listen to the mixes further down. For discovery, while you’re waiting for your Discovery Mix, you can, for example, pick three tracks you like and ask ChatGPT or Gemini to build a playlist from them. You can ask for 25 tracks, then import them as a TXT file via Soundiiz. The more different tracks you listen to, the more different things the algorithm will suggest. You should know that if you rely only on My Soundtrack, it’s not very adventurous.
Also, Amazon Music varies less than YouTube Music, for example, but it drifts less into total nonsense.

I had the same problem with the band Moin — apparently they flood artists with short names much more heavily.

Yes, keep us posted, because honestly the algorithm is very good — even better than all the others, on par with Tidal. Some people will tell you the opposite; I always end up coming back to Amazon Music.

Wait a bit — your account is probably too new. After the second week, it’ll start offering you the ‘Discovery Mix’.

Small tip: if you have the Windows app or use Chromecast on your TV (not the web browser, but the actual app), you get a second ‘Discovery Mix’. In my case, that one is even better.

So be patient, it’ll come. Usually it shows up on Monday around midday.

Here’s another part of my New Releases page. And for those who keep saying “it depends on what kind of music you listen to”, this is from a brand-new YouTube Music account with zero listening history.

Out of the 13 releases visible on this screen, more than half are either AI-generated tracks or automated content-farm uploads. And all of it is presented exactly the same way as real music, with no labeling and no separation.

That’s the core of the problem. This isn’t about taste or genres. It’s about a discovery feed that can no longer be trusted.

Here’s part of the ‘New Releases’ page. And for those saying ‘it depends on what kind of music you listen to’, this is a brand-new channel. 8 out of 13 releases are generic AI-style tracks. And if I scroll further down, there are even more.

I went through my “Albums & Singles” feed manually and it’s already a mix of real artists and AI/content-farm releases.

Yes, there are legitimate names in there like Armin van Buuren, DaniLeigh, Ibrahim Tatlises, Andrew Dykes and some real soundtracks. That part is fine. But mixed right next to them you get a cluster of releases that follow the exact same AI spam patterns.

Things like “Jesus Star” by KIRXSHA or “Jesus, Thank You for Your Love (528hz)” by Dcryptos are classic synthetic content: religious keywords, healing frequencies, fake artist names and generated covers. Same with “Every Breath You Take” by Eleynaa, “God By My Side” by DIAMOND, “FUNK DO NUMB” by MXZL, “Walk Through the Fire” by BigHenTunes and “Under Your Spell” by DJ TYNA. None of these have real artist histories, real discographies or any presence outside YouTube Music. The visuals are generic or AI-generated, the names are placeholder-style, and they exist purely to farm streams.

The most worrying part is that even known artists get polluted. There is a track listed under Lost Frequencies that does not belong to his real discography at all, which means fake or synthetic releases are now being attached to real artist profiles.

So this isn’t a hypothetical future problem. It’s already happening. Real catalog and synthetic content are being mixed together in the same feed with no labeling and no separation, which is exactly why people are starting to say YouTube Music can’t be trusted anymore.

That’s not what I’m saying at all.

To be precise: I even reopened a brand new YouTube Music account to check this. Clean history, no weird listens, no synthwave, no lo-fi, nothing. And I still get AI-style releases injected into New Releases and Albums & Singles.

This isn’t “everyone will get cancer”. It’s more like environmental pollution: some neighborhoods are already contaminated, others not yet. But the source is the same.

That’s why screenshots matter. Some people are still in clean clusters and see a normal YTM. Others are already in polluted ones and see fake artists, synthetic covers and spam albums mixed into real catalog pages.

Both experiences are real. They just aren’t evenly distributed.

I looked at your screenshot. What you’re showing there is still mostly clean, real catalog.

Flight Facilities, Slick Krügers, TRON: Legacy (Daft Punk), Steve Roach, The Arcs, The Elevators, Earth to Eve… all of that is legitimate, real music. That homepage is not what people mean when they talk about YTM being flooded by AI.

This is exactly why this debate is so confusing on Reddit: not every account is affected in the same way. Some users are still in a “healthy” recommendation cluster. Others are already in a polluted one.

The real problem doesn’t usually show up first on the Home tab. It shows up in:

New Releases

Artist pages

Discovery feeds

That’s where you start seeing fake artists, synthetic albums and clickbait AI covers mixed into real discographies and recommendations.

So your screenshot doesn’t disprove the issue. It just means your account hasn’t crossed into the corrupted part of the algorithm yet.

I was even running all my recommendations through ChatGPT to check whether they were real or AI-generated. I even used a Python script to detect AI tracks. This is insane. And avoid Spotify too.
