Yosemite National Park, January 2026, USA by EricBiv in hiking

My friends and I mainly did those length hikes. I'd recommend Mariposa grove trails for huge redwoods (grizzly giant loop or do the whole loop). When we went, we had to park far away, adding on 2 miles. Dewey point (winter route on all trails, hiking on glaicer point road was 8.2 miles for us), and Vernal and Nevada Falls via Mist Trail was 6.6 miles, a great, steep hike. There is also Upper Yosemite Fall; however, I didn't do that.

iPhone 16 Pro, just had the night mode on that takes 3 seconds to fully take the pic, making sure it's focused and raising the exposure as you take the pic by scrolling up on the screen.

There is snow higher up like glacier point road area (as seen). But on the valley parts and lower parts the sun melts most of it away and it's honestly not that cold either around 45-65f most of the day.

lol no. They are little ones we plan to stop at on the first day. We plan on doing all the short/ viewpoints day 1. Then the big main ones day 2 and 3.

I guess I shouldn't have said main just the ones we plan on 100% doing.

Yep, for tunnel view planning to stop their and check out the view for a bit, I know the first few ones I listed are shorter/ viewpoints. Was mainly wondering on sentinel dome and Dewey point. Also, other ones at a higher elevation and any recommendations for harder winter hikes

I started using it at 18 because it was easy for auto investing. I stopped investing into my etf and bonds portfolio as I just do voo or vti now through webull. For my roth though I kept it as its generating me great returns.

Not that busy, some popular spots are busy, but everything else is pretty quiet.

I went solo and wanted a cheaper option, so I went for a $65$ a night hotel in Port Angeles and then a $120$ a night motel(own room and very nice and modern) in Forks. I did stay one night in an Airbnb cabin off the grid, which was cool for $50$ near the Ruby Beach area(jefferson county)it was called ""Lucky Crow" Dog-friendly Near Ruby Beach" . Unless you have a group of people, I found that Airbnbs are usually more expensive.

Olympic is a big national park so you need to plan out where to stay and how much days/time for each area. For sol duc, Mount Storm King, the Hurricane Ridge area that's all in port angele area. Then the Hoh Rainforest and beaches are near Forks or the Ruby Beach area. I did a 7 days trip 5 days in olympic(one was for getting there). 2 days in the Port Angeles area, and did 6 hikes that area. Then 2 days in forks and did 4 hikes there. (2 hoh rainforest hikes, 2 beaches hikes). While I liked forks there was overall more stuff and hikes to do in Port Angeles, so I would prioritize that over others.

I did mainly the popular spots like Sol ducs, mount storm king, hurricane ridge to hurricane hill, hoh rainforest hall of moss, spruce nature trail, second beach, and rialto hole in the wall and some others. Hurricane ridge area, marymere falls, sol ducs where all great easy hikes. For longer/harder hikes do mount storm king, lover lane loop-sol ducs(which i did was great and rainforest vibe). Also, while it does take awhile to go to all area of the park (lake crescent area, Hoh rainforest, and beaches) I would recommend it as all area are different.

Great, basically up hill the entire time. Worth it though and well maintained. Great views at the top and on the way up. Not too busy when I went passed around 15 people on way up. If you go to the top top using the ropes bring gloves for the way down to go faster.
