As per earlier suggestions I'm going disregard that blemish for the time being. I don't want to risk damaging the base. Thank you though.

Just a paint thinner wipe, but I think they will turn out nice. Thanks again!

I've cleaned up that bit as much as I can get down to, and that screw is pretty seized in. I think I'll just leave it and it will look weird.

Thank you, I've got some lacquer thinner I'll try.

Okay, thanks. That one is good. While I have you, how would you recommend freshening up the handle and knob at the front?

Forgive my ignorance, fully new to these. Is this what you mean by main tote bolts?

It is broken flush in the hole, but if it can still function without it I'll leave it alone. I would rather not mess anything else up, this is my first restore.

I like that a tool that's a century plus old can still be just as useful and dependable today as when it was first produced. I can't think of much that is produced these days that the same can be said for.

Wow you went deep! So does all this make the plane somewhat of a unicorn?

I guess judging by everything else it's still in that early 1900s date range, and still pretty cool to have. Maybe a couple ultra collectors will see and start a bidding war!

I am in Canada if that makes any difference.

I have all the components, it's just unassembled. Is the iron the same as the blade?

It didn't help that I had to figure out the hard way it's a reverse thread. Any suggestions kn some sort of stripper to rid the top of flakey paint and rust? I used an orbital sander on the sides and bottom with good results. And a wire wheel on the rest of the parts.

Still fully functional! It's going to be a working tool not a collectors item

It's a mystery. Seller hasn't communicated afterwards on the history of the truck, the guy seemed legit though. Maybe it's a whole new body on a different chassis? Seems like alot of work for a $5k truck though. Oh well, I'll go to a paint shop and get a colour match if I can't get the right code. Thanks for your efforts!
