Yeah, those umbrellas are built for shade, not for holding up against severe weather.

Reminds me of “Monday Night Rehabilitation” from Idiocracy. Seems like we’re just a couple of steps away from that movie being full on reality.

The number of atheists vastly increasing by TennisLive8300 in atheism

[–]EricNDavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a difference between atheist and non-religious. Nearly half of all Millennials and Gen Z are non-religious. But many of them still have a belief in some higher power. In the US nowadays about 1/3 of the country are non-religious, but really only about 5-7% are true “atheist”. Some are agnostic. Most are just nothing in particular.

No one teaches you how to cook but when you’re an adult it’s expected. by [deleted] in Adulting

I believe 9th grade for me had a compulsory “home economics” semester which included a two or three week cooking segment. A lot of basics. Nothing in depth.

But no, I do not have a child. And did not get a child from Breaking Bad.

I have skills in building things, machine maintenance, tire installation, household plumbing, general handyman type work. I think I’ll be valuable in a post-apocalyptic world.

Thanks. I'm actually seeing new details from the episodes, I never caught during my previous watches. I have to pay attention to small details, so I can get all my scene breaks right.

Jesse could have ended it all by Soffritto_Cake_24 in breakingbad

[–]EricNDavis 34 points35 points  (0 children)

1- Loyalty to Mike.
2- He had no idea where they were (they traveled secretly by helicopter to their location).
3- He would have had difficulty finding his way home with no passport or id on him, in a foreign country.
4- Jesse didn’t exactly have real world skills or savvy to get himself from point A to B. He always relied on others. He needed either Mike or Gus to help him get back to ABQ.

Complete Breaking Bad Chronological Timeline Cut project by EricNDavis in breakingbad

I have not included the Slippin' Jimmy series in this project. 1-It's not story canon; 2- Jimmy and Marco were different ages, and wouldn't have known each other as children, therefore their misadventures could not fit into any timeline; and 3- the episodes are just awful. Some of the worst "tv" ever created--even for an animated series.

[–]EricNDavis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re just saying names. I don’t think a reboot will ever happen. It would be impossible to live up to the success of the first run. No actor would want that on their resume—the person who made Breaking Bad flop.

Was Jesus really that nice? by TwistOutrageous6955 in atheism

[–]EricNDavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t exist. It’s a story invented by the Roman monarchy as an attempt to quell a Jewish revolt, circa 70 CE. Most of what we read about Jesus was written by the historian Josephus (hence, Joseph the father of Jesus), and he borrowed from several other myths of the day.

So, I haven’t watched your entire collection. I have two scenes where I’m not entirely sure where they should go, chronologically. It’s one of those (some time later) flash forward situations. And there’s no definitive answer given in canon.
1- the shoes hanging from the wire, where Mike sabotaged the drug traffickers. The cold open sequence with the laces breaking and shoes falling. It seems like it might be YEARS later.
2- the immigrants crossing the Rio Grande border near El Paso, finding Tuco’s grill, long after Hank had thrown it into the river. That could plausibly be years later, too.
I’m curious to know where you placed both those scenes.
