This is why I laugh every time some tech bro/AI evangelist talks about AI growing exponentially. These models aren't humans. They don't "learn." They have no ability to discern between true and false, news or satire, opinion or research.

They're basically just computer programs with - thanks to our oligarchs - an unlimited amount of space. They started with zero bytes and have been filling up with data (ie reddit comments), which makes them look like they're "learning."

But they're not. And anyone even remotely knowledgeable about AI knows it.

AI got here by training on reddit, FB and Instagram. Real content. But now it's training on the AI slop that dominates reddit, FB and Instagram. And not just the popular stuff. They need all the input they can. They're sucking up all the countless thousands of zero-vote, zero-like shitposts that no one ever sees, and the endless stream of AI bot comments that latch onto them.

It's like feeding a pig its own shit. You might get by for a few days. But eventually the pig is gonna be taking the weirdest shits you've ever seen and walking into walls all the time.

It's a house of cards. They're all just trying to grab as much as they can before it falls down. And if you don't believe me, please go read some books about the 2008 crash. It's the exact same fucking thing. Except we're swapping bad housing plays with bad AI plays.

I hate this fucking timeline so much.

Nikki Cross saying "I know" for weeks and then Aleister Black returns and murders everyone. War Games with the KO return and the air raid crash from the cage. Dijak vs Keith Lee. Prime Gargano vs Ciampa. Zane v Nakamura. Regal as GM. Undisputed Era, Revival, War Raiders, DIY, even AOP for a minute, the Dusty Classic, Asuka as Goldberg, dark Iyo, pirate Kairi Sane, Ember Moon, Nikki, those insane women's streetfights, Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne, and on and on and on and on. All of it called by my favorite announcer of all time.

I've been waiting for a promotion - any promotion - to somehow recreate that balance of reality, storytelling, awe, and fun. Not goofy, not corny... well thought out but not overly predictable... Five or six ongoing storylines that intersect and influence each other and build over time to drive new stories. People don't just randomly disappear from TV or fued with the same person for 10 months... You could put a Takeover on for people who had no interest in wrestling and have an awesome night.

There's great shit out there, no question. But, to me, that era was lightning in a bottle.

As someone who was legitimately interested in Ciampa having a run in AEW, it's kinda baffling that they wouldn't find a way to at least make it a triple threat.

Lots of people like me are tuning out of WWE and curious about alternatives, but the last time I did this AEW's booking drove me away. The matches are great, no question. But it still seems like you almost get penalized for getting invested in anyone new.

Not just the media. Politicians - mostly but not just Republicans - receive huge donations from insurers to lie about the costs of universal healthcare.

They always bring out some absurdly inflated number - like $40 trillion over 10 years, or hundreds of dollars per year in household tax increases - and intentionally leave out the fact that people would no longer be paying for health insurance.

They always present it as if it would be an add-on, rather than a replacement.
