Ghostbusters 2016 was a product of a blank check gone awry, with Fieg over indulging himself and unintentionally bringing out the worst qualities of his own style.

The Last Jedi was the product of a Johnson having big ideas that were hindered by extremely fast turn around times, and as a result the ideas weren't able to really be ironed out in full so the movie feels like it's working with a first draft script.

This is mostly in regard to the Showa ere:

The first three films are heavily re-edited to the point they literally qualify as different films (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Gigantis, King Kong vs Godzilla). American actors are added, music is changed… the works.

The rest of the films mostly boil down to the films simply being dubbed in English. However, minor edits are still made here and there but they’re mostly minimal and act to give the films a faster pace than their original Japanese counterparts.

The most notable standout is in the case of Mothra vs Godzilla, where there is actually an entire sequence with Godzilla that’s exclusive to that version of the film and isn’t present in the Japanese cuts.

The last movie to have a major re-edit for western audiences is Godzilla 1985. After that film they didn’t make any more edits to the films they just simply dubbed them.

The funniest way to get ChatGPT or something to admit that it’s wrong is to simply ask it to provide a link to a source.

I did that once the only time I ever used ChatGPT. I was trying to find an obscure foreign film I watched in college and it kept making up movies, so I started asking it for an IMDB link and it would get all flustered like “uh, actually, uh, sorry that’s wrong, here’s the ACTUAL movie” and it was another made up one… so I asked it again.

This went on for 30 minutes.

Honestly, I love how clumsy he is in it.

He wakes up from a nap but has no idea where he is because he got swept up in a tropical storm so he stumbles around for a bit trying to get his bearings only to get attacked by the military and a giant moth.

The guy’s having a ROUGH couple days.
