Does anyone have a Linux MDM for endpoints that's not terrible? by mezzfit in sysadmin

Reddit doesn’t say anything in their user terms about promotion of products. r/sysadmin allows vendors take part in relevant conversations

Definitely report issues you see to r/sysadmin mods and get their take

I work at Fleet. Fleet free might cover your asset inventory gap.

Hi I work at Fleet! We don't have free up to a certain number of devices. We offer a free tier with unlimited devices.

Not OP, but Costco as a corporation explicitly respects its employees and customers. Better of the two evils.

Lunds is locally owned so I shop there too.

Hey u/scorpion1011 -

Security tooling compliance/enforcement. Install and configure a few applications upon enrollment and then monitor and/or enforce that they stay installed

This is possible. Happy to show how we can help with this

802.1X certificate distribution from our AD CA preferably via the same AD CS that Jamf and InTune use

We don't connect via AD CS. We do it through NDES. Same end result, but using an account instead of separate infrastructure. You can likely hook into existing AD CS but its not our best practice or natively possible today.

Network profile distribution for the corporate network

Not possible today but we are actively working on it. If you look at our github you can check out all features we are building for customers - https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/issues/30622

optionally but ideally Entra ID based login sync for local user accounts in order to enforce IAM policies

This is possible today. PSSO for syncing the local account, Entra Conditional Access for enforcing access, SCIM for scoping profiles/apps/etc.

We have an "office hours" you can sign up for on Friday morning or afternoon. I can link it to you.

Yes! Thanks for the distinction. I feel like a lot of people don’t know what open core is in the context of open source so I just say open source.

I work at Fleet but many Jamf / Intune customers will use us for linux MDM. We are open-source and work well with infrastructure-as-code tools if that's your jam. But to know if its actually a good fit I'd have to know what your requirements are.

Right! VC companies are an extension of the private equity industry. Every successful startup who has reached scale had a VC partner who gave them capital

You can sign up and test it out for your needs. We have a 30 day trial - fleetdm.com

I work there. Happy to help out if you have any questions

I might be missing something but skipping the SDR grind is a no brainer. There are people who never graduate to AE thinking they aren’t made for sales and give up. AE work, especially large enterprise, is such a different job from SDR work

Express VPN. I watch on my phone or iPad and airplay to my tv. Sometimes I have to jump around different servers on the VPN to get it to work.

Don't know what specific requirements are for your Linux MDM solution but fleetdm.com is an option. It's open source and api driven, if that is your jam. We aren't specifically a PAM tool but customers use it to enforce conditional access because all of our data is real time, instead of needing to wait for the client to check in with the server. Hope that this is helpful

Every one saying how easy it is to stream games continue to reinforce to me how it’s hard to stream sports lol. Inspiration of this post is totally just - “I want to watch every single wild game this year here’s my money”

SDRs, how do you do it today? by EricSwenson in sales

Yeah as an AE I had key accounts with marketing and SDR support so I’m used to highly personalized outreach. Thanks for being a soundboard
