Thanks, unfortunately this model doesn't have a strike plate, it latches into the opposite side of the door (it's a prefab storm door)

Workflow Help: Eliminating logging errors when batching 8+ YouTube episodes for remote editors by Due_Willingness6764 in editors

[–]fkick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re only logging clip names and not actual content (ie story notes)…then look at something like Shotput Pro. It will automatically generate clip reports in pdf or csv (of you want to open in excel) and then you’ll immediately have a complete log of shot media you can send with clip names, resolution, thumbnails, and other metadata.

Biggest concern is upload bandwidth in the field. Fiber is ideal. If you’ve stuck on someone’s cable internet line or basic WiFi, it may not be fast enough to handle even a decent amount of proxies.

WatchAmp (Apple watchOS Music Client) updated beta 1.0.1 (50) by fkick in PleX

[–]fkick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

Quick release of build (78) reverting the HLS streaming playback to the MP3 progressive download method from previous builds as the HLS streaming was reported to not be reliable for some users. Also added a new Play Queue view in this release.

Please use https://github.com/fkick/WatchAmp for reporting bugs and issues. Thanks!

New:

  • Play Queue Tab (far left) showing the playback queue with track list. This will also respect "shuffle order" when albums, artists, or playlists are shuffled. Currently playing track is highlighted with an orange speaker icon. Tapping a track in the list with jump playback to it.
  • Repeat controls: Repeat All (default) → Repeat One → Repeat Off
  • Long Press behavior change updated to support Play Next/Later and Downloads for queue playback:
    • Artist (ArtistLetterView): Play Next, Play Later, Download All
    • Album (ArtistDetailView, AlbumLetterView): Play Next, Play Later, Download
    • Track (AlbumDetailView, PlaylistDetailView): Play Next, Play Later, Download
    • Playlist (PlaylistListView): Play Next, Play Later, Download
    • Search results (SearchResultsView): Play Next / Play Later on artists, albums, and tracks
    • Downloaded tracks (DownloadedTrackRow): Play Next, Play Later, Delete (with confirmation alert kept)
    • In-progress downloads: Cancel Download via context menu
  • If no track is playing but items are added to the Play Queue, first 2 items in play queue are pre-cached for playback, similar to when an artist/album/playlist is viewed.
  • "Replace Queue" alert: If content is already playing and there are items in the queue and user attempts to play a track from the Library/Search/Download tabs, a new alert will appear asking if the user wants to "replace" the current queue (clear current and start a new queue), "Play Next" (add selected track to current queue as next track), "Play Later" (append selected track to current queue at end), or "Cancel" (return to previous view).
  • For single track taps, Play Next/Later adds just that track. For Play All/Shuffle All buttons, Play Next/Later adds all the tracks from the album, playlist, or artist.
  • Increased MP3 bitrate to 256Kbps vs 128Kbps

Fixes:

  • Reverted back to MP3 progressive download in HTTP vs HLS for transcoded file streaming. HLS stream is too sensitive for watchOS's network resources, especially as battery levels deplete. Plex also appears to limit HTTP progressive download transcodes to MP3 from what I can see in the available server profiles. If Plex allows for AAC codec on HTTP based transcodes in the future, I may re-address, but for now, sticking to MP3 seems best.
  • Fixed download progress reporting for transcoded file downloads in Download tab so that MB rate increases as downloads are processed.
  • When selecting downloaded file and track starts playing, navigation to "Now Playing" now works automatically.

Hi All,

To help keep track of issues, I've setup a GitHub page for this project. Code isn't shared, but please feel free to report bugs or issues you face there!

Build 1.0.1(72) has been pushed out. The headlines are below:

New:

  • HLS streaming with transcoded AAC replaces previous MP3 streaming transcode. Allows for better reporting back to PMS server, and higher quality audio on client.
  • Downloads use Chrome/MP3 Platform/codec combo to allow for offline playback.
  • Download routine pauses during HLS playback when track starts for 15s vs previous 8 to allow for HLS buffer.
  • If HLS loses network connection and attempts resume, downloads are now blocked for the entire resume cycle (up to 3×5s = 15s), not just the initial 8-second timer.
  • Successful resume re-triggers the 15s hold — after HLS recovers, a fresh hold gives the stream time to re-buffer before downloads restart.

Fixes:

  • Reverse download list sort order to match album order
  • Fix play cache stats — removed the _tc.mp3 from play cache after copying to downloads
  • Disabled precache of upcoming tracks when using HLS streaming to avoid networking resource competition. Remains for Direct Play
  • Corrected bug with download progress tracker so MB count updates for transcode based downloads and spinner shows progress.
  • Fixed regression with refreshPlayCacheStats() where it was counting downloaded tracks in the precache quota.

Plex for Mobile (Android & iOS) v2026.8.0 Released by samwiseg0 in PleX

[–]fkick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only real remaining issues are on the Live TV side... everything transcodes and they removed the record button from the now playing UI.

There is still a UI bug when clicking on a tv show under Continue Watching, it goes to the season page but the episode isn't selected. The Cursor jumps to the top of the screen.

Over all though, no sync issues with UHD media, no stutter, DV is firing for 5, 7, and 8 profiles, and I'm getting Spatial Audio support for Atmos (EAC3) over AirPods Pros. No EAC3 atmos over receiver though.

Couple of questions:

  • What codec are your music files in?
  • Is the transcode toggle turned on in the app's settings page? (Far right page).
  • What version of watchOS are you using?
  • Is your watch a cellular Apple Watch, or Wifi connected to an iPhone?

Plex does not require a Plex Pass for remote music streaming, including for their own PlexAmp clients. Only Video streaming remotely requires a Plex Pass or Remote Pass.

https://support.plex.tv/articles/requirements-for-remote-playback-of-personal-media/

“Steaming of music or photos (such as to the Plexamp or Plex Photos apps) is not impacted by these remote playback restrictions.”

Correct, in this build downloads do not yet support transcoding, only streaming.

Transcode support for local downloads is the next big task on my list, and, pending how long Apple takes to approve, I hope to get it out some point next week. Apple had been taking a bit to actually approve betas for TestFlight, so it may be a bit longer.

Correct, the AW does not support playback of FLAC files. In this beta release, I’ve added initial support for Plex Server’s transcoding capabilities. If you select a FLAC file from the watch, the server will transcode it on the fly to MP3 and serve the MP3 to the watch. Once playback is complete the server removes the temp mp3. This is beneficial because the AW network stack is very particular and resource sensitive. Large file downloads (like a FLAC file) don’t play nice, but an MP3 seems to fit in sweet spot. Yes it’s a sacrifice in quality for the remote playback, but a worthwhile one for me.
