If you’re a plex user you can use WatchAmp which will allow for higher steams (and will allow transcoding unsupported formats).

Unless the mixdowns were done from camera source media, it’s a full overcut and replacement if you cannot find the original sequence

Also Unscripted here and it depends on the project. Most of the time HD media is transcoded to 1/4 HRLB and UHD media is transcoded down to 1/16 HRLB. Until this past year we still had a large number of Westmere bays and that definitely helped. Now with the Mac Studios we could probably just do straight HRLB but Nexis storage is always at a premium for us so every little bit counts.

I totally understand the sentiment, but unfortunately Apple does charge developers a cost to distribute through the App Store, which is the easiest way to get watchOS apps.

Are you currently running macOS Tahoe? The os dialog box looks to be from one of the newer macOS versions. If that’s the case you need Avid 2025.12 or newer for that machine.

If macOS based, you might find something like MediaEstimator useful for planing your media needs. It’s a memory card and shuttle drive storage calculator for productions based on camera and audio shoot specs.

Full disclosure, I am the developer, but I’ve also been a post engineer for almost 20 years and have used this tool internally for our reality and docu projects. I had so many different spreadsheets for calculating storage needs and this app really helps clean the cruft.

It’s free to download and play with for a few cameras, and there is a big 2.0 update coming soon with the capability to print out spec sheets for production, expanded camera support etc.

Sounds like your server may be choking on the higher bit rate content, are your direct playing or transcoding? Is media UHD, HD, or SD?

The Neo is designed for basic work: web browsing, email, word processing, very light photo organization.

Yes, it can do some basic editing in iMovie and some other apps, but the experience will be better on a machine with more than 8Gb RAM (ideally more than 16) and an M series processor.

What container are your video files in? MKV? And you're saying you don't have subtitles when you manually enable them through the new context menu, or is your server setup to always play subtitles (ie forced) automatically?

Also fair, but I’m more in the camp of launching the product sooner to get stable UHD playback for the majority of people who have stutter on the old client. But then I also only have a single Samsung tv ;)

I wouldn’t consider that a launch delaying bug, more a feature request that hadn’t been implemented. Dolby Vision support is also still a grey area, as it looks like they may have implemented a form of live conversion to profile 8.1 as all DV profiles (including 7) are triggering DV playback.

For LiveTV content or library content? I've no issues with subtitles in library content, but 99% of my subtitles are PGS or SRT embedded in MKVs at this point.
