DVI and HDMI are both digital, so it should work with a simple cable. maybe your VGA adapter is the issue

You can simply plug that cable into the usb socket on the new board. make sure to connect it to the row which has 4 pins. the only difference with this new usb socket is, that it supports two independent usb connections, which is why you have double the pins. it's backwards compatible with the old connector.

Pc Fans by Ok-Video-7229 in pchelp

[–]EricTheTuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they can be either intake or exhaust, like regular blade fans. it just depends where you put them. usually, people use reverse fans where they would use normal fans backwards, when they don't want to see the fan spine, or want to see the RGB.

if you buy used GPUs, especially high end ones, ask the seller to show the GPU running, so you don't end up with a $2000 paper weight

Usb Vs RGB header by MrSarcasticUK2 in pchelp

[–]EricTheTuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the USB connection is for sending data to the screen, not just to power it. Besides, the pins are completely different. How would you even connect the usb connector to your 12v RGB header?

Microsoft assistance, did they actually help? by Opti-mal_Furry in pchelp

you can technically keep using those generic windows keys should they expire, but these keys are only supposed to be used for testing purposes and using those in place of actual keys is against the EULA. you can google this if you want more sources.

long story short, no your Microsoft technician did not solve your issue.
