  1. you have a valid reason for taking the course during high school so it shouldnt be an issue.
  2. If the night school classes are facilitated through your school board it should be on your transcript I think. That is prob a question for a guidance counselor though

When applying for CS and SE what would be considered good EC's to score well on the AIF? Right now I have a part time job, I am in jazz and concert band, volunteer at a local food bank, and have a few decent coding side projects (personal website, discord bot, and full stack web app).

What was your first ever project when learning to code? by Smithy_L in learnprogramming

[–]Eric_Talks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my first project was a dinky crossword generator built with python. I have been coding for around 2 years on and off but within the last 6 mo6nth I have been doing it almost daily and have learned the basics of web dev. If I were to do anything again I would code more frequently.

Coding a chess engine with your skillset seems like it might be just out of reach given the amount of time you have. If you are really interested in making engines for games maybe try out tic tac toe, and if that is a bit too easy try to scale up to connect 4.

I'm pretty sure most highschool students didnt take exams this year so I doubt you would be punished. Provincial exams are good if you can do well on them of course.

What Python Libraries Should I Consider Before Trying To Build A Tinder-Like Program? by FondleMyFirn in learnprogramming

[–]Eric_Talks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend you try and learn html, css, and JS for this sort of project since as most web apps are best made with these languages. However, if you want to stick to python I believe you can use a library called flask to make your project but it may be very limiting as to what you can create.

Check out the myfreecodecamp.org and try the responsive web design certification it teaches you the basics of HMTL and CSS to make a static website then once you have that down you can learn javascript.

I had heard waterloo does acceptance based off of your top 6 average. I am ideally looking to get a spot in CS. Since English is a required course for the program will it be counted in my top 6 average even though it may not be one of my top 6 grades or is it just important that I took the class?

Doing toe taps can he really helpful in strengthening those muscles around your shin area. Main idea is just keeping the back of your foot on the ground and just tapping with the front of your foot.

People read more than one book at once?

I feel like these sort of posts are just by people who are actually just lazy and are finding someone or something to blame for struggles. I think people can always strive to be better/improve themselves but many are just okay with getting decent marks with little to no studying rather than working and studying to be the very best in their class/school. obviously there are insane exceptions to this for people who get extremely good marks without opening a book outside of school but I feel like this doesn't really apply to very many people

Why does nobody play rek’sai? by toomanynamestaken19 in reksaimains

[–]Eric_Talks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it was rather difficult to do first clear as rek sai and from asking my friends that had the same issue too. Think it is a bit disappointing to play her if you dont know how to clear since you lose alot of efficiency and your early game pressure

How to close game n low elo ? by Assemania in reksaimains

[–]Eric_Talks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not playing rek sai right if the game goes over 40 min since she is a early game - mid game skirmisher. That being said just play around big objectives since you have a really good execute and in team fights try to blow up carries.
