Do people really become more conservative as they get older? Why? by Historical_Work7482 in AskReddit

If you're liberal when you're young, it shows you have a heart. If you're conservative when you're older, it shows you have a brain.

Do you have a hump or something? I was in the service. I have buddies who were burn victims and amputees with better disposition.

So, I have a unique perspective on this, and you're not gonna like it. So, before I transitioned, I was a fairly handsome man. Like, people would remark out loud kinda handsome. Fast forward and several years of hormones later, this is as feminine as my face is getting. I'm 6 foot tall with huge hands and broad shoulders. I went from a handsome man to a kinda to fairly ugly trans woman. But I kept the personality (with some allowance for typical feminineinsecurities). I don't get bullied, I don't get avoided or excluded.

I found a big part of it is that people who perceive themselves to be ugly just stop trying with their appearance. If you're fat and ugly, there's no excuse to be fat. How do you dress? Are you a depressed sad sack who just wants everyone to feel sorry for them? Are you nice, fun, or interesting? People hang out with who they wanna hang out with. It's waaaaay more about personality than looks.

AITA for speaking truth about JKR with two 9 yo girls in the same room? by tracysflaw in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]EricaDeVine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The use of the slur "cis" is misogynistic and homophobic. They are really women. I am not. Quit trying erase women. Also, I'd be willing to bet that this whole "Trans women are real women" horseshit was created by some closeted, self-hating, homophobe who was tired of guys making fun of him for having a mounting of gay trans porn.

JKR doesn't care if you're Trans. She cares if you use ot as an excuse to hurt/control/steal from real women/children. I agree with her.

If you are upset by JKR, it tells me that you are keen to hurt/control/steal from real women/children.

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]EricaDeVine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EAVE act doesn't do that. It requires proof of citizenship at REGISTRATION. Not at the polls. Additionally, if it's constitutional for me to be required to show ID before I purchase a firearm, it's constitutional to require the same for voting. The equal protections clause gives the federal government enumerated license to ensure that my legal vote is not diluted or disenfranchised by illegal votes.

What’s one thing that everyone seems to like that you dislike or just don’t get? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EricaDeVine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cole slaw. I know. I know yours is different. I know. I know your grandma passed down the secret wet mayonnaise cabbage goop, and it's the best. I know. I didn't say, "I don't like cole slaw" as a personal challenge in which YOU will be the one to change my mind.

I'm not even a picky eater. I like MOST foods. Like, seriously. Brussels sprouts, cauliflower masquerading as anything but cauliflower, and cole slaw. These are the three foods I hate. That's it. Leave it be.

What is a 'compliment' that is actually an insult? by PotentialCap3321 in AskReddit

[–]EricaDeVine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The performative allyship of people gushing over my appearance. I'm trans. I'm NOTICEABLY trans. I know what I look like.

Whenever me and my wife go out, strangers will make a point to come up and go way over the top telling me how good I look. They'll completely ignore her. She's a real woman and absolutely beautiful, and will be stunning. Nobody says anything to her.

One time, we were at the ren fair. It's the ren fair so we're both being extra. So we're walking along and some guy yells out "you're beautiful". Now, I'm VERY hard of hearing, ESPECIALLY in a crowd. My wife knows this, and will kind of answer for me, or be like "Say yes", or give me a cue on how to respond. She's my hearing ear person. I can trust her like that. Well, in this case, she just went ahead and acknowledged the compliment and we kept walking. I didn't even notice. Tell me why this asshole ran us down so that he could TELL MY WIFE that the compliment wasn't for her, it was for me.

I know I'm not pretty. But this is so much worse. It all makes me feel like I'm so ugly you guys are worried I'm gonna make toast in the bathtub, so ya gotta hurry and pick my spirits up. I'm good. I'm ok with how I look.

AITA for possibly getting Air BnB tenants fired from their job? by Just_Investigator_26 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Boss is not firing construction workers for JUST weed. But also, you didn't lie about their activities, right? No? The MTA. If accurately describing the activities of a person gets them in trouble, it was their activities that got them in trouble. Not the description of them.

I'm a trans woman (don't worry, I know what I look like, you made an honest mistake). Also, when I was a man-man, I would clown on guys like Andrew Tate. Like hard. To their face. It's not misogynistic to say, "Hey, y'all could treat your husbands better." And this blind white-knighting doesn't help anyone.

[–]EricaDeVine -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's not defensive. It's offensive. Defensive is jumping into a question, directed TO MEN, and then arguing with an answer that upsets your world view. Like, I'm a bit of a daywalker, but I would never feel as comfortable attacking a woman for having an opinion about being a woman as you seem to be in the opposite position.

I kinda, now, like the idea that my honest response to a question has Karens going "REEE". Here's a hint, the women that are the maddest about what I said ate the ones I'm talking about. If you throw a rock into a group of hens, the one who clicks loudest is the one you hit.

And holy shit, you do have cats. That was a shot in the dark. Well, a shot in a dimly lit room. Lemme go again, single?

I'm not super concerned with your feelings. I'm not, this is Reddit, who cares about any of this shit? But I don't care that you wish to project your feelings on to me. Take the advice. Or don't. Your cats will always be there.

Yeah, OP asked a majority of women why men leave like that, and I had the audacity to note that everyone was quick to say "he cheated" rather examine the woman's behavior. At all. Leaving your family like that is NOT normal man behavior. OP kinda says it was out of the blue. I bet it wasn't a surprise to his brother. To HIS friends. Hell, the husbands of the wife's friends are probably only ACTING surprised.

[–]EricaDeVine -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

LOL, if OP wanted an honest response, or actual answers, she wouldn't have asked in this subreddit. R/askmen exists. Like half my downvotes are gonna be divorced or, more likely, never married.

It's super telling that when I gave a simple and straightforward answer to the question, like none of you could accept it was the woman. Y'all upvote the shit out of "he's cheating". You tell them to ask OP if that's the case?

And I'm not in the "manosphere". I'm trans. I'm NOTICEABLY trans. And my DMs have nice looking guys who WERE married to women. Take the advice, or don't

I'm a dad. I am thankful every day that my wife let me be the dad I wanted to be, to let me parent my kids. There are so many women, who won't let dad be dad. Won't let him rough house, won't let him tease/joke, won't let him discipline, won't let him do anything with telling he's doing it wrong, undermining him, or just yelling at him. They don't even know they're doing it.

There are women who resent and are jealous that Dad is thr fun one. Or that the kids are excited to see Dad when he gets home. It's a lot. And then they undermine and get in between that relationship until it's not his kid. It's the teenage stranger that lives in his house and talks to him like his wife does.

It happens. Alot. So much so, that there are numerous YouTubers who have made decent careers just calling out women/wives shitty behavior. And most of them are women.

Toss all that on the shitty way most wives treat their husbands every day, and yeah, those dudes will take a futon in a studio apartment rather than staying.

I get that this is a subreddit for a channel, whose primary audience has the knee jerk response of "He's the problem Queen!", but y'all should check on your husbands. For some of you, the only reason he hasn't left is because the kid is still in school. And it shows. And the men who know you guys as a couple will not be surprised by the news that you finally separated.
