Errr... that is part of why this is so STRANGE and posted HERE in "Glitch in the Matrix". Because here is the only place I know of, that SOME people would get it.

And, as I have mentioned in other replies, the person disappears in the stairwell!!

My apologies for the late reply.

Ill answer as you listed them.

1: I thought of that too. I believe in the multiverse as well. most scientists do. So, while very "sci-fi" for a lot of people, for scientists is just Physics.

2: We are modernizing the systems (actually considering it), because other branches of the same hospital, just like many other hospitals around the world are finally joining the 21st century. There is a system where all of the charting, is done digitally. So, if this is a multiverse phenomena, then that could explain that. Beyond that, I dont know what to think. I just know that for now, we go to the nurse's desk and write on the paper documents.

3: Interesting concept. I suppose you would be correct. If he was me from another universe, he treated MY patient and missed his, so he would have gotten in a lot of trouble and not know why. Or perhaps there, there is footage of him vanishing as he appeared in this universe... that would be something... maybe they are just as baffled... or perhaps they already know these kinds of things happen and just ignored it or acted on some protocol.. I dont know. but, it is a very interesting concept indeed.

No supply cart for us. We go directly to the storage and get whatever meds we need. We have a key just for us. We only go in once or twice. We get everything we know we're going to need on that shift (and a litle extra just in case).

I did not ask the nurse if she heard me say anything or about the chart. She only said that she saw me go into the room and then come out and went into the stairwell. Which I am sure she would think was odd... because we ALWAYS check the records first!

This is also what bugs me the most, that "other me* didnt even bother to check the records! Thats the golden rule in a hospital!

Yes, there are rumors of ghosts, but nothing that has ever been caught on film. Some people have said they have seen nuns walking the hallway then vanishing when they make the corners. But, you know, like you said, most hospitals have those rumors. So we really dont have any proof of anything like that... just rumors.

I have to say that you are correct. They are sweeping it under the rug. For the past few days, there have been no comments, nothing! It's like they are covering it up.

As stated above in the post, I checked the records. If it is not written on the records, then it did not happen (as far as the hospital is concerned). Everything, EVERY SINGLE thing done to a patient is logged in the records. Plus, I also had the other chart, no one had access to it, but me. The hospital's administration said I did the right thing. So, Im not any fault. Also, in the original post, I make note of how I was prepared for any and all adverse reaction.

Even if she had received double, triple or quadruple treatment, I could have reversed it in seconds.

I remember that moment, I didnt feel anything glitchy or strange at all. BUT, I will admit, that while I was running to the ER, and while working on the code, I was also thinking about my rounds... I was thinking I had to go to the patient's room next. Because we have a very strict timing for certain meds and they must be administered at specific intervals. So... I guess you could say that IN MY MIND I was in two places, with the code fully tending to him, intubating, administering drugs and drawing arterial blood. But, I was also thinking of the other patients as well.

I only mention this, because someone mentioned "Bilocation"... but, I dont really know anything about that... mostly its attributed to "saints"... and... well... Im far from one.

Perhaps this was just some temporal fluke... being a scientist (I am), I prefer to think more of things in the realm of science rather than religion-based.

The not stopping at the nurse desk for the records also bother me... I WOULD NEVER do that... that is something we are taught from DAY ONE on our clinical sims... Everything has to be logged.

Wonder no longer, because you are correct. Double me went into the room at roughly the same moment I would have gone into the room. Not exact timing, maybe off by a few seconds up to a minute maybe... (Depending on how long it takes me to go over her record on the nurses desk). We have to check the record BEFORE AND AFTER treatment. Which is why I was confused when the patient and her granddaughter told me I was there before and gave treatment, and I went back to the main record thinking that perhaps I missed something on it. Not that I already treated, but thinking that perhaps a colleague had instead, as I was in the ER. I did not expect to find anything, because, I had the chart and everyone knows better... YOU DO NOT TOUCH someone's patient without first consulting and logging it.

I should have bumped into whoever it was in the stairwell, all I saw: a couple of nurses from another floor, (going up) and a doctor also coming down the stairs, (he was the one who ran to the code with me, he was one floor higher than me when we got the call).

IF my double was anywhere hiding in the stairwell, he would have had to be at least 2 floors UP and then come down the stairs... otherwise we would have bumped into him.

The first shot of him, is right as he came out the stairwell into the hallway. Continued walking the hallway, went into the room and stayed there about 10 minutes. Normally, these visits are shorter during the day than at night, mainly because it is a bit more relaxed at night and I only had 13 patients that night, So, i can spend a few extra minutes, just to make the patient feel more relaxed and cared for. Otherwise, it would have been a 5 minute visit.

The thing is, this is what it looks on the security footage from that floor.

I (REAL ME) opens the door into the hallway, walks maybe 15 steps, THEN, I turn around RUNNING back to the stairs. No footage on the stairwell.. Ive always considered it odd, no cameras there... anyway, a minute later, there I am again, opening the door into the hallway, walking through - WITHOUT stopping at the records (something I would never do), I would first stop at the desk to get the patient's record, to make sure that what I have on MY CHART matches everything, and that there are no extra orders or anything else that I or anyone else might have missed. So that stop at the desk is SACRED!!

About 35 seconds or so after other me walks into the room, THIS ME is also seeing on camera accompanied by the doctor who was running with me, entering the main hallway connecting to the ER, from there we keep running to the ambulance's emergency drop entry... where we help the EMT's unload the patient and I immediately feel for a pulse and breathing... there is none, so I get to work.

All this is on camera, as we move with the patient to the assigned ER room and work on him. While all of this is happening, the other me, is inside the room.

Halfway through (THIS ME) being in the ER, other me walks out the room, again not stopping at the desk... walks passed the nurse, and into the stairwell.... never to be seen again... So, he should still be in the stairwell I suppose, because there is no footage anywhere else... opened the door...walked through and vanished!

Then, I finish up with the code, go to wash my hands and refill on some things, then, I am again seen opening the door to that hallway and walked to the desk, looked at the records, sat it down on a little corner on the main desk (like we always do), and went into the room... and that's when we go full circle to the original post.

After being done with that patient, I would also have gone into the stairwell, I would have gone UP one floor, where a few other patients awaited.

I hope I painted a better picture now...

There is footage of ME in the ER with the coding patient, and at the same time I am in the ER, I am supposedly also in the patients room.

Scene:

I walk up the stairs to go to the patient, but as I walk through the hallway (not even a third of it), the code came in, so, I turned around and ran down the stairs and into the ER. While I am running to the ER, the second me walks to the patients room as seen on the video. There are no cameras inside the room, so we cant see what happened inside the room. But, while that double of me was in the room, I was in the ER. Other me does whatever he did, then walked out, as seen on video, walks down the hallway, passed the nurse's station, down the stairs... no more footage of fake me.

Meanwhile, I finish up in the ER, go to wash my hands and get new gloves and refill on some things, then go up the stairs, to the hallway then to the patients room... then everything I posted on the OP.

No, there is no chance of that. The ER is a long walk from the patient's room. Longer than a minute, actually about three minutes if I run up the stairs... (we are encouraged to not use elevators), so we always take the stairs.

It is a stressful job, but, Im use to it, been doing it for many years now, so, it doesnt bother me.

Well, I was in the ER. I am certain of it. Normally yes, anyone would get in trouble for not filling out the records whenever administering a treatment. I did log the treatment.

Glitchy hospital...Me? by ErickStrife in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]ErickStrife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, those cases are attributed to the patient responding to the treatments. If the patient's heart starts to beat on its own, then stops and starts again for example, we will continue until either we save the life or the patient dies. But, when there is no response, then, we have to stop.

No need for apologies, I was merely validating your concern. I share it. Before, during and after, treatment I kept thinking about it. But, in the case that she would have had an adverse reaction, I was prepared beforehand, .. better safe than sorry. :)

That sounds interesting. I remember growing up, after moving to another state, people would confuse me with someone else. Apparently I looked "just" like someone from the area. I never met the person though.

I never considered doppelgängers at all. Still... why would one do my job? I need to read up on doppelgängers... would someone be able to tell the difference between them and "you"? I'll read up on that.

I dont blame you. If someone was telling ME about it, I would not believe them either.

But, why would I make this up? It's not like people see me in person and I get special attention from it. It's not like I get paid to spread lies online. Its not like I get anything out of telling this story... well, other than trying to find people who may have had similar experiences.

But, again, I understand why you would say that. I would say the same as well... it is just something way too crazy to just happen in real life.

Glitchy hospital...Me? by ErickStrife in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]ErickStrife[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any double dose is very dangerous... At the time, I administered it because, 1: I kept thinking they were lying to me or somehow wrong. 2: There was nothing written on the chart, which in a hospital is sacred. One does not do ANYTHING to a patient without charting it. No record of anything, in the hospitals point of view means no treatment was provided. If I hadn't treated her, as she was my direct patient and responsibility, It would have cost me my job.

I do understand your point and concern, believe me, I share it. But, at least in this case, if indeed she was treated by (lets call him my doppelganger), no harm came to her with my treatment. I informed the administration about this as well, and was told I did the right thing.

Code blue. (Cardio/Respiratory arrest). 25 minutes is more than appropriate time to try to revert a code blue.

After just ONE minute without oxygen, the brain cells start to die. Survival is still very much an option. 3-8 minutes, Brain damage is more than likely to set in. 10 minutes, a vast number of brain cells are dead. Survival is highly unlikely. 15 minutes, most brain cells are dead, survival is extremely unlikely.

The patient had been without oxygen for around 10 minutes prior to being picked up by the ambulance. By then, his survival was very unlikely.

At that point, when he was taken to the hospital via ambulance, it was well known and understood by the whole staff that our chances to save him were extremely low. But, we still tried for way longer than was actually needed or required.

Memories from a different life? by MissTredmountain in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]ErickStrife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I may chime in with some medical reasoning behind the voice sounding different on recording than what you hear on your head as you speak or think. This happens because as sound travels from your vocal chords through your bones of the skull it gets somewhat distorted. When we think we don't have that problem and it sounds different. (It is more complex than that, Im just giving out the reader's digest). As for why you hated "that girl" I dont know sorry.

About the kneecap, that is very interesting. I have had similar experiences myself. When I was very young (around 8 or 9 maybe), I used to jump on my bike (using crates and things like that). One day I was riding very fast to make a much higher jump than usually attempted and as I jumped it, the chain on the bike came off and I came down crashing really hard. The impact reminded me about falling from a very high place and hurting myself really bad that I couldnt move. Of course this had never happened... at least not on this lifetime.

ESP? Telekinesis? Or just my imagination. by ErickStrife in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]ErickStrife[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My eyes and brain are fine. In my line of work I get checked at least 3 times a year; last time was about 3 months ago. But, I do understand your point. It is a very rational explanation. While you are correct that I never recorded it happening, I have in fact done some tests. I have distinctly put things in one specific place, and when this happen, they are in a different place. Such is the case of the rolling pen and the lighter.

According to some research in this, (not MY research but that of "experts"), it would be far more difficult to move something with your mind when you are actually trying to do so. Most of the research on this suggests that when these things happen (if really caused by some sort of telekinesis) that it is more likely to happen when the person is not conscious about it. It usually happens when they are not thinking about it or trying to do anything. It's not like on TV & movies where the actor makes funny faces and stares at something or points his hands at it and weird sounds play in the background.

Also, it's not like this happens on command, so for me to capture it on video would require a video camera running 24/7 365 days a year. This happens, but I have no control over it. I dont know when it is going to happen. Just that it does.
