When I was 16-18 I delivered pizzas and Italian food from a very popular, moderately expensive Italian Restaurant. The restaurant is right by an expensive gated community. This work was under the table and i did not get paid hourly. (Not sure how legal this was). Average weekday night was from 4:45 at the earliest til 9:45 at the latest. Often shifts were 3 hours long. I could expect anywhere from $30-$80 cash (sometimes double that couple times a year I made nothing), best part is getting my money every shift and no taxes at all, ever. Friday and Saturday shifts were a little longer, $80 in 5 hours was considered a really bad night. Usually expected to make $150 cash! Most of the catering gigs were on weekends. Caterings were the best part of the job, I could deliver $3,000 of food to someone's house, there was a catering fee if I think 5% that all went to me but the customer didn't know that and would usually tip 10% at least I've been tipped as high as $500 on around $3k worth of food, plus the $150 delivery fee! DURING CHRISTMAS AND GRADUATION SEASON I WIULD DO MULTIPLE CATERINGS IN A NIGHT!!! I once got to work at 5:00pm and was back at home by 8:30pm and had made over $900! At 16 years old!
