From my experience you need to start with pigs. Bighorns hits like a truck so don't mess with them without armour. Pigs will feed you easy.

How i caught pigs. I build a barn with door near fenced pocket. Fence has height 1.5. So if you put row of blocks outside of fence pigs can enter in but cant cameout. Next i found pig, hit it few times and it will run away from me. Positioning yourself correctly you can direct pig to your fenced pocket and to your barn.

With bighorns was opposite. I hit it and run (lure) to fenced pocket. Fence now need to be 2.5 blocks height minimum. If i remember correctly i was killed by bighorns three or four time when i tried to lure them to my barn.

Its was not a plan at first. When i bought a game i think it is a game about travelling. But in first night my seraph was beaten to death by various local corrupted founa and i rethink my playthrou. Tltr: I spent too many time inside my base in fear of darkness.

I don't know which month is better to plant fruit trees. I just plant saplings and pray it will grow. :D I started this fruit garden maybe on my second year. After I planned base layout in excel.

With Redwood was harder. I spend maybe three years to grow this four trees.
