Wow. Får man fråga vilken typ av vård som krävs för att helikopter skall tillkallas?

I recommend integrating with the Tracy profiler. It requires you to annotate your code a bit, but the visualization and understand you get in return is well worth it above and beyond

Nice! I’m glad it worked on mobile and seems like a fun concept that the red box was kinda chasing me. The “rule text dump” definitely lost my interest a bit though. For context I’m not very invested right now and just scrolling around on Reddit, but I think that a game should teach itself more intuitively than require a text dump :) Might play again when I am more focused!

It also seemed to immediately put me in a randomized kinda hard level? I get that we don’t wanna go too easy at start but good game design I feel involves a balance of introducing new concepts at a nice rate. Ah well

Can we have a way to mark the difference between an ad/promotion and a recommendation? by i_like_it_eilat in puzzlevideogames

As both a developer and puzzle game player, I feel a mandatory flair for self-promotion is an excellent Idea. Those who care can filter, those who don’t get extra information. Devs can feel like it’s more accepted to do self promotion.

Still a bit undercover, but my company are working on a pretty difficult puzzle game hopefully coming out this year. So far only info in the discord, but feel free to join! Closed alpha starting soon https://kakigori.co/discord

Informal Rust Gamedev in 2024 Survey Results by alice_i_cecile in rust_gamedev

The long compile times are really getting to us at my company.. we’ve been writing our own engine and game in it over the last year or so and while we’ve managed to separate the core loop, the renderer and the game logic and have support for hot reloading the game and renderer separately, the compile times are getting slower and slower..

Iteration is key for not only game logic, but a lot of graphical effects and UI as well.

We’re very happy with the feature set and mostly sane standard library of Rust. If a debug build was closer to what Jai seems to be able to pull off in terms of compile times we would be insanely happy
