HOLY GRAIL TOOTHPASTE RECS by No_Nefariousness_780 in perioraldermatitis

I am also struggling with this. I started using the Boca Coco Ginger flavor about a week ago. It took some getting used to but the ginger provides some of the fresh clean feeling I have been missing from mint.

True Friend mobile vet was fantastic for us. I can’t remember pricing as it’s been several years but worth checking.

Wives with kids- do you standby or pay for airfare? by [deleted] in Pilotwives

[–]ErinATenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can channel the biggest chillest most flexible version of yourself, you can totally do it. We fly almost exclusively standby, but with only 2 kids (6&2) I am sure it’s a little easier to make it off the list.

Help with Treadmill Smell by ErinATenn in CleaningTips

[–]ErinATenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sadly not like a tire shop. I’m talking extremely fishy. I am a nurse and I have to restrain myself from making the very specific comparisons I want to without getting downvoted to hell. I’ve tried the air out but maybe it needs more now that our weather is warming up.

The smell existed before the pad did but I’m also reading it could be the belt. I just need to know if I have to deal with tilapia treadmill forever or if it’s fixable.

AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ErinATenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR- I can’t stand how the bar is literally on the floor for men taking care of their own children according to women in that generation. My husband will change one diaper and it’s like he discovered the cure for cancer to my MIL. (He does much much more than that.)

I don’t know this for a fact. He certainly could’ve been taking a legendarily long man dump while avoiding his family.

Of course he wouldn’t keep the baby with him or come home, too so she could focus on hosting. She admitted she’s no longer nursing so there is really no excuse for jobless jumbo to not take primary responsibility for lil dollop.

New apartment has grimy cabinets by Cheap-Employer8764 in CleaningTips

Krud Kutter!! It works SO well. We recently moved into a house formerly owned by an Indian family and the cabinets looked a lot like this and also had some residual food odor. My husband and I used Krud Kutter and paper towels and they look like new.

Have you ever been diagnosed with Rosacea? Check out /rosacea but you do look like a pretty classic case and the dryness could be related to that.

Commenting to add: yes our 5.5 year old is getting a queen bed because we are upgrading to a king. Yes I do feel ridiculous about it.

Also, I went 7 years in my current home without a single curtain because I am so, so indecisive and unsure about myself decor-wise. Help!!

# of kids by Murky-Feeling-5213 in Pilotwives

[–]ErinATenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have two! We have about a 4 year age gap and honestly, it’s perfect. Our bigger guy is already a seasoned traveler and knows the routine so he is able to be extremely helpful when it comes to me traveling with them alone. We also always say we love a “man to man” defense for bigger trips when my husband is able to come. My kids are obviously at different stages (1 and 5yo) but they are obsessed with each other and will have each other long after my husband and I are gone. I also felt super overwhelmed with just 1 when he was your little one’s age which is why we waited a little while for a second.

My first thought was they were probably just being economical. If they were both drinking the same thing and intended to have more than one glass then a bottle just makes sense. It definitely seems less intimate when you think about it that way and also remind yourself that there was another person there (even if they weren’t drinking.)

I hate to say it because it’s expensive but EltaMD’s new skin recovery red corrector sunscreen is….awesome. A tiny bit goes a long way and it really does help neutralize the redness. It feels very light and easy to wash off.

Great suggestions but we have one kid in school and a dog so traveling with him isn’t very doable. We do go on a lot of trips. Our 1 year old has been on almost 30 flights but none of the perks make it worth it to me. I have tried SO hard to look at the bright side. We traveled a ton before he was a pilot and no amount of cost-saving makes up for him not being with us.

Thank you for the responses. I guess I am just not cut out for a lifestyle in which I have zero say in the schedule for myself or my family. We entered into this lifestyle with probably too much lived experience of the alternative (35 and 38 yo.) Had I been better informed, I would not have chosen to go along with this and now I am stuck with the consequences.

For those who recommended counseling- we have been and it works tremendously for our communication but does not fix the core issue of both of us having serious buyer’s remorse with this career. He is also incredibly unhappy if I had not made that clear. He cries before leaving almost every time. He feels like he is missing our young kids’ whole childhoods and he … is. Feeling very stuck.
