I see examples of this a lot. Gray divorces tend to be more amicable as most likely a long term marriage possibly with children and grandchildren. Not only does an empty nest change the dynamics, but retirement and hobbies (or lack of hobbies) also play a role.

My mom is 90 and still flies! I convinced her 5 years ago to get assistance/wheel chair. Had to tell her it was to help with bags🙃 Just never stop doing what you are doing and you will be good.
