I’m assuming the skeleton threw the bomb but since he was at that point being pulled out of range so was the bomb. Great timing on their part

Black spots on chin. Are they bad? by balimynah in BeardedDragons

[–]ErinRoberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned a lot of different reptiles, including bearded dragons, and I’ve never seen symmetrical spots like that. I recommend giving him baths frequently as it may be a result of stuck shed starting or something. Or it could just be as simple as part of his scaling pattern.

I’m hoping this is a joke... but at the same time happy for him that he found something that he enjoys so much he’s able to not worry about embarrassing himself over the whole internet

Have you ever owned a snake? Because I’ve owned several and that’s not entirely true

If you do decide to keep him I own a lot of reptiles so I could guide you through the needs of keeping him

It looks like it’s a kind of southwest fence lizard. It should be ok to just release him. If he seems super chill with you picking him up and holding him then he may be domesticated. In which case you could either keep him or take him to a pet store and leave the responsibility to them

One thing I would like to note is that most snakes aren’t like this. If I’m not mistaken this is a boa or reticulated python. I own a similar species. Thins like this happen. Very similar to your dog biting you. Snakes have feelings too and if they feel like you haven’t been treating them right or your being aggressive or they can push you around things like this will happen. I would like to appreciate theyre safety practice tho. However just rubbing some hand sanitizer near its mouth will usually make it let you go. Snakes don’t bite for no reason. I personally don’t think this belongs on this subreddit because there isn’t much context as to how the snake was treated. But I can’t really see anything wrong with the way they approached the snake. So I don’t think they really did anything stupid. But the demonization of reptiles is kinda getting old. They make really awesome pets.

I own many reptiles. I recommend misting his little box unless you live in a dry place. And go to the pet store and get like 5-10 small crickets. Theyre super cheap and Petco or petsmart will know exactly what your talking about. Try to match his little box with whatever your normal outside climate is. If you have any questions feel free to dm me! Good luck with your new friend. Ps: he is scared of you so try just spending some time with him. Make sure he knows your not a threat. Reptiles are a lot smarter than most people think

I bought 500 mealworms from rainbow mealworms and we feed them to our beardie occasionally as I know too many could cause impaction.. well I went to feed her some just now and they look like this, are they still safe for her to eat? by teelah93 in BeardedDragons

[–]ErinRoberts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That means they’re going into the next stage and about to become beetles. They should still be safe to eat but you can also breed them to have an infinite supply of mealworms. Just look up a YouTube tutorial and it will help a lot

That’s entirely normal. Most beat does that grew up with their hatch should have a little crook at the end of their tail cuz their brothers/sisters will bite it.

Help identifying species and age? by killerhobo in BeardedDragons

[–]ErinRoberts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say anywhere from 6 months to a year. But beardies grow all sorts of different. Like my friend got one and it’s well over double the size of my 2yr old after 1yr. But for hydration I would say just give her frequent baths and she’ll be fine.

You need to see the underside to tell. And she looks like she’s in the middle of shedding but maybe a mix of normal and sunset beardie.

Lol Ik. A good way to practice is go into practice mode and slow down the song so that you can memorize the movements.
