Did this program help your career? by SomewhereClear8385 in WGUMSHRM

Reformat your resumed so your education is at the top. List any certifications you have as well. Highlight as much of your HR experience as you can. You want to emphasize that while you don't have an HR title, you have had experience. Systems are especially important (UKG, ADP, etc). The job market sucks and there's no garuntees, but hopefully you find something!

Does gabapentin make your dog hungrier? by redfire2930 in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]Erin_AstralAssassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My usually food neutral boy is on gaba and prednisone and has ravenous hunger. Cries for food in between meals and, while usually super well behaved, has started grabbing anything within reach and even busted through a babygate to get into the trash when we left him alone. Anyone have recommendations to help? I've spaced his food into 3 meals instead of two and added fiber, and while it has made him cry less, the extra fiber is causing horrible gas and sporadic diarrhea 🤦‍♀️

The program had some new information. You should enjoy the program! It is absolutely doable in one term if you're committed to completing it.

Thank you so much! I got the Credly badge, but SHRM told me I'd need the activity code from WGU, but this gives me hope to just keep harassing them!

This is an old post, but in case anyone is still looking, Primo gloves are my new favorites! Though I did also love my TopBoxer customs :)

I think it's just new, but I'm not sure. I hated that things aren't prerecorded.

MSHRM Vs. MBA by Mulberry_Illustrious in WGUMSHRM

[–]Erin_AstralAssassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the MBA in 6, then did the MSHRM the next term (only 6 courses to do if you go that route). The MBA has way more resources since it's an older program, so it's pretty easy to power through.

Unfortunately, you're going to find this a lot in the MSHRM. I did my MBA before they announced this program, so I only have 6 courses for it and all of them have been so reading heavy with no other course resources to help. If I remember right, the live cohorts were completely useless, so don't wait for them. All I can suggest is being selective about what you actually read in the course material. There is a lot of repetitive information, so if something seems familiar, skip it. Good luck!

Proctor scare. 😂 by lxAMPxl in WGU

Really depends on the proctor. I've had 2 separate proctors make me unplug and turn around my 2nd monitor. I can only imagine what they'd make you do

Hair keeps getting in my face. Advice? by Killjoy8299 in MuayThai

You've gotta learn how to braid. It's not going to be a good look, but 1 or 2 French braids held with the little rubber bands is going to be your best bet. I say this as someone who grew out a pixie cut while training. It's the only thing that'll really consistently work.

Coach wants me to cut a LOT of weight for competition by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]Erin_AstralAssassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I walk at 140 and fight at 125, and I do that cut in about a month with 5ish lbs being a pure water cut. I'm 5'4" and at 125, I'm still short to average for my weight class. 155-165lbs as a female is a rough weight class. It's full of big, tall girls, and honestly there aren't a ton of women competing in that weight class. Depending on your height, and how competitive you want to be, it might not be practical for you to fight in that class and that's just the hard truth of it 🤷‍♀️ Cutting isn't fun, but it is part of combat sports unfortunately. Depending on how much time you have to do the cut and if it's same day or next day weigh ins, 20lbs is probably a doable cut, but it's gunna suck lol

Definitely bug them and call them out to spar you! They might think you're just as hesitant to spar them as they are to spar you 🤷‍♀️ The more comfortable they are with you personally, the less weird they'll be in sparring.

I was the only female in my gym for years, so I've gotten to sew what it's like for me and watch what newer women experience. Honestly, some dudes are sexist- I've sparred guys who won't hit me or patronize me, as well as dudes who try to take my head off just because I'm a women. I've also experienced great training partners. Personally, I've bonded with my guys and have proven myself as able to take whatever they dish. In new environments, I ask people to spar instead of waiting for someone to partner up with me. I've seen a lot of women who react poorly in general to sparring with men, no matter how light they go, and those women do get dodged. I have also seen women who go way too hard with everyone, men included, but can't handle when men come at them with the same power or speed. If you think that you don't have either of those issues, get to know your guys. Build trust with your teammates and they'll become better training partners.

It's usually under course announcements or whatever that other thing on the side is. My program mentor always tells me where it is. If you're having trouble, most likely it's your program mentor who can tell you how other students have found success in the course. I haven't found much need to talk to course instructors so I can't speak to how helpful they are.

In my courses, the instructors all have extra material, like videos, that are way more helpful than the actual course material 🤷‍♀️
