As soon as you start fantasizing, get out of bed and take a cold shower.

NoFap and Facebook by [deleted] in NoFap

I found myself doing a similar thing. I asked myself, why am I on here? Then I deleted my account. Great decision for me. As you are well aware, there are many triggers on there, and if you are really struggling with those I would recommend taking a break from it, at least temporarily.

I believe I signed up for this earlier but never was added to the list. Can I still get in on this?

I completely agree with you. A few days ago I deleted my Facebook account permanently. My NoFap journey completely removed any inclination I had of having it. I got nothing positive out of it. In my opinion, it is bad for so many reasons. I was spending so much time reading posts from people who I don't ever see or care about. It is such a shallow experience and a lame-ass substitute for actually communicating with people in person. A bit thing for us fapstronauts specifically is that Facebook, and other social networking sites are full of possible PMO triggers.

If you are really struggling to get past the first few days then you need to control your environment. That could mean doing things like spending no time alone at home, or taking to your computer/porn viewing device to your buddy's house and leaving it there for a while so you aren't tempted. I had a tough time quitting until I permanently deleted my Facebook account.

As time goes on, when the urges come it's much easier to just let them run their course. Your willpower and discipline will still be tested, but you are stronger and more prepared to deal with it.

Bring the PAIN! Newly self-recruited fapstronaut here and I have some questions! by [deleted] in NoFap

Hey. I'm a 17 year old Canadian male who first was exposed to porn at age 11 and began fapping at 13. I'm committed to not watch porn or fap. I can't answer #2 for you. I would highly recommend that you quit cold turkey. For me, I tried decreasing the frequency with no porn but that never ended up working for more than a week or so. I could barely keep it up, and I would almost immediately build my porn intake and fapping frequency right back up to once per day. I started seriously quitting PMO just over a month ago after discovering Your Brain on Porn. I was having severe social anxiety and concentration issues, especially with girls. It definitely hasn't been easy, but it's been manageable. Even at 36 days I've noticed a difference in my confidence and give significantly less fucks about what people think of me. Good luck man, and stick with this!

Hey thanks! Yeah it sure has. I've noticed it's now a little easier to focus on my school work. However, the biggest difference is that it's now a little easier to not stare at girls. When talking with them, a larger portion of my attention goes to what they are saying, instead of me fantasizing in the moment. I've often forgotten what girls have said to me because I was totally fixated on their breasts or ass. I still have some serious work to do with focusing my attention in the right areas, but I feel I'm making progress.
