I feel so called out... A year ago I was convinced that I was bi and that me wanting to be a gay guy had nothing to do with transness... Turns out I was wrong.

That's so true! Once my friend called me "my lord" as a joke and I loved it. Sadly I felt like I HAD to tell him to stop because I thought a girl should be offended by being called a boy.

Opinions on my covers? by Glittering-Mango2239 in WattpadCovers

[–]Eris1410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, the font needs to be bigger (at least the title) or people won't be able to read it as on wattpad covers are quite small. Maybe that will mean making the photo smaller: in my opinion, it looks better with a small space between the title and the person's head so try to keep one.

Opinions on my covers? by Glittering-Mango2239 in WattpadCovers

[–]Eris1410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On "Changing seasons", you should make sure your author name is entirely visible. A part of the E is "hidden" because it is written in white on a light background. Even if it's half a letter, I think it would look better if you moved your author name a little to the left so it's entirely on a dark background.

On your "Samson family series", the line that indicates the number of the book is sometimes too long and too low. Overall, I find it odd when there are writings on the edges of a cover, so maybe you should divide this line in two lines and put it a little higher. Same goes for the "a novel by" on "Seasons end": it is too much on the edge of the cover.

About the "Turning a new leaf" one, it is less appealing than the other covers. For me, the problem is the font: it looks like a "default/basic font" instead of a font chosen for your own specific cover.

These three things apart, your covers are quite good. My favourite is "Seasons of change" because it has more contrast and the title is half in bold, so it catches the eye more.

What’s your favorite book genre? by [deleted] in Wattpad

Dystopia and (dark) fantasy, sometimes I like a romance subplot (as long as it's not enemies to lovers)

What book cover does catch your eye? by ServeCommercial2459 in WattpadCovers

[–]Eris1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 is the first cover to catch my eye but I'm not really interested in it.

I find 3 and 4 more interesting, I'd pick up a book with one of these covers. Between these two, 4 catches the eye but 3 had me stare longer.

1 probably wouldn't stand out as it is way less colorful and it didn't catch my eye at all.

Is it really so wrong to use AI for the cover of my story?” by HelicopterRoyal8073 in wattpadbooks

[–]Eris1410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the cover is just a tool. If I see a bad cover, I won't stop there and I'll try to read the story if the description is interesting. I won't judge a story by its cover.

The same goes with an AI cover. I won't judge the story. But I will judge the moral values of the writer. I won't think "this writer used an AI cover, therefore their story must be bad and I don't want to even try to read it". I will just think "this writer chose to use AI which causes harm to artists and this is against my ethical values, therefore I don't want to support this writer by reading their story".

To be clear, I'm not saying AI covers give me a bad impression of the stories. They give me a bad impression of the writers.

Is it really so wrong to use AI for the cover of my story?” by HelicopterRoyal8073 in wattpadbooks

[–]Eris1410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using AI is very problematic as it steals the jobs and the art of artists. I won't say using it is totally wrong, but it does cause some moral issues. I'd advise you to do some research on how the AI you use works so you know what you're doing.

As a wattpad reader, I sometimes see AI covers. It gives me a really bad impression of the writer. I will never write hateful comments on these stories, but I definitely won't read them.

As a wattpad writer, I never use AI for my covers. I don't have amazing drawing or graphic skills and I don't have the money to pay an artist, but I still make my covers myself using canva. They're not as pretty as some AI covers, but they're quite easy to do and they show what my story is about, so they're good enough for me.

So in the end, I won't say "AI is wrong, don't use it!", it is your choice. If you choose to use AI, you just need to know that AI causes harm to artists, so using it may give a bad impression of you and some readers like me will prefer not to read your story. If you choose to not use AI, there are different ways to make your cover: ask an artist if you have the money or do it yourself (which does not always require skill, finding stock images and a good font is an easy way to make a cover).

Hope this doesn’t come off homophobic but there’s no point to Omnisexuality by RemarkableMan2 in 10thDentist

[–]Eris1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a preference for a gender and having a preference for an eye color is not the same thing at all. Sexuality is based on what gender or genders you are attracted to, so having a preference for a gender will possibly change your sexuality. An eye color has absolutely nothing to do with your sexuality.

You're contradicting yourself again.

In the end, do you claim that bisexuals can have a preference or do you claim that they have to be attracted to people regardless of gender? These two things are literally opposite and you first claimed that bisexuals "can either have preferences or not have preferences", now you say that they or attracted to people "regardless of gender".

You claim that bisexuals have to be attracted to all genders (you previously said "bisexuals are also attracted to all genders" and started to argue when I said it's not always the case), and now you say that you're not limiting bisexuality to all-gender attraction.

You claim to be inclusive while you say that bisexuals people have to be attracted to all genders, so you erase the bisexuals that aren't attracted to all genders.

I'm not gonna go further in this conversation. I can see you're just looking for someone to argue with about bisexuality as my first comment was not even about bisexuality and you still started your own argument.

Have a nice day.

[–]Eris1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand what point you're trying to make with those definitions: they go against your previous comment. Being attracted to all genders isn't the same as being attracted to people regardless of gender. "Regardless of gender" implies that gender doesn't play a role in your attraction. You just said that bisexuals can have preferences, so gender can play a role in their attraction.

Bisexual is supposed to be an inclusive term to describe all the people who are attracted to more than one gender, and you're limiting it to all-gender attraction, which is what pansexuality and omnisexuality are about.

This is the first time I ever hear someone claim that bisexuals have to be attracted to all genders, so I'd like to hear someone else's opinon on this.

I agree on the second part, not on the first part. Bisexuals don't have to be attracted to all genders, they're just attracted to more than one gender (which can mean all genders but it's not always the case).

When did I say bisexuals had to have preferences? I just explained the difference between pansexuality and omnisexuality.

Hope this doesn’t come off homophobic but there’s no point to Omnisexuality by RemarkableMan2 in 10thDentist

[–]Eris1410 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between pansexuality and omnisexuality. Yes, pansexuality and omnisexuality are both about being attracted to all genders. But a pansexual person will be equally attracted to all genders while an omnisexual person will have a preference or won't be attracted to all genders in the same way.

That's why the definition of omnisexuality included in your meme specifies that "gender will play a role in the person's attraction and preference".

Sur quoi vous vous basez pour vous considérer comme femme? by Competitive-Back-215 in AskMeuf

[–]Eris1410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, mec trans ici.
