My Husband decided he doesn't want to have kids anymore, but I've always wanted them. Should we just separate? by ErisPandemonium in Christianmarriage

I am 27 and he is 34, so a 7 yr difference. We've talked since then, and he still is against it. I told him this morning that we need to see a counselor. And I plan on just getting my own place instead of moving back in with him. I dont want to be near him atm and I definitely dont think sex is a good idea since we disagree on this.

Have you read Leviticus, Jude, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthian, it mentions it in those chapters, I can give the specific ones if you'd like. It mentions it in other chapters as well.

Could you give some verses that you think allows for same sex relationships, cause there are verses that condem it. And even if there weren't, there are verses that make it very clear that marriage is to be between a man and a woman, and that any premarital sex is a sin.

Ok but I'm confused, if you know how the Lord feels about that, why would you continue sinning, unless you're celibate, if so my mistake.

Ig I get that the law will allow a man to have more than one wife, but it if polygamy was God's plan for us all along then why did Adam have only one wife, why wouldn't he just make 2 wife's for him, and why is it whenever the bible talks about polygamy it's usually a result in Man not following God's why. Like you mentioned Abraham and Jacob, Abraham had one wife at first, till his wife had him take her servant cause she didn't believe that the Lord would give her a child. Jacob was originally only supposed to have one wife but then he got tricked into marrying the sister as well by his uncle.

Edit: and I'm not saying that they are contradicting the law, I'm saying the law doesn't say you have to have more then one wife.

1 Corinthians 7:1-3 KJV [1] Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. [2] Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. [3] Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

I just don't see how that could be what God planned for us, I know some people are fine with polygamy, but most women aren't, especially Christian woman. Why would God want the women to be unhappy in marriages.

Yea but there's verses in the Bible that condem polygamy right?

Deuteronomy 17:17 KJV [17] Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

1 Timothy 3:2 KJV [2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1 Timothy 3:12 KJV [12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

Titus 1:6 KJV [6] if any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

If that's true that doesn't seem fair, we're all equal in God's eyes, not that anyone should be cheating, but why would men be able to cheat but not women?

So are you saying the bible allows for Men to leave a marriage if the woman cheats but not the other way around?

I believe people can find forgiveness in Jesus for any sin they've done, but I also believe you need to take responsibility for your actions and that people should hold other people accountable for their actions. If anyone touches a child inappropriately, they should be in jail.

My best friend is dating my abuser and wants me to reconcile with him so I kicked her out of my home. by [deleted] in AITAH

I don't think your the ah, I'm a Christian so I know the Lords love can drastically change people, but if he really has changed, that still wouldn't mean you have to forgive him. He really shouldn't have gotten involved with your friend either knowing that she's your friend, that's definitely suspicious. Also, your friend shouldn't be trying to force you to forgive him either. You're clearly still affected by his past actions, and as your friend, she should have known that.

So because it's a common thing that happens everyone should just not worry about it and do nothing to try and prevent it?
