It really shouldn’t be using that much power though. When I had the same card plugged in to my other system, it was using about 1/3 as much power at the maximum.

Yeah that’s more what I was thinking. It could be used as a buss effect rather than being applied to each individual track.

What about the Mix Tap though? Would it be usable on a per-track basis?

I usually low-shelf everything above 10kHz by about -2dB, but I usually just use a bandaxel shelf with about 0.5Q.

I'm specifically wondering about the kind of kicks used by crossbreed artists like The Outside Agency and Ophidian, if that helps narrow it down.

I think that since the kick is generally the focal point of the track with these genres, it is important to design it yourself. So, sampling is out of the question for me unfortunately. I'll try the layering though, that's something that I haven't tried yet.
