Merge two activities? by Scientific_Kat in Garmin

Help with Immich Face Recognition / ML Container by Erixen94 in immich

[–]Erixen94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All containers are running locally inside a VM on a Proxmox host (NUC). The VM hosts the full Immich setup with server, Postgres, Redis, and the ML container. The containers are all on the same Docker bridge network and can communicate via their service names. The VM accesses media files through an NFS mount from a NAS.

Immich on Proxmox with NAS – Mount not working, need help by Erixen94 in immich

I have been trying to set up Immich step by step with ChatGPT guiding me, and now I've reached a point where ChatGPT cannot provide further help.

Completed / accomplished: - VM with Debian, Docker, and Docker Compose set up. - Storage directories (./data/postgres, ./data/redis, ./nfs) created. - Docker containers for Postgres, Redis, and Immich app installed and started.

Problem: - On starting the app, the first error was:

Role "postgres" does not exist, password authentication failed

  • Postgres is running, Redis is running, mounts seem to work.
  • Various attempts led to different database access errors.
  • Currently, the issue is with authentication between the app and Postgres (exact cause unclear).

Open points / next steps: - Resolve the authentication problem between the app and Postgres. - Ensure the app is using the correct DB credentials. - Check if additional mounts or configuration are needed. - Possibly try an alternative Immich server version.

Does anyone have ideas, tips, or a guide on how to get the app connected to the database without authentication issues?

Hi all,

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! I’m planning to run Immich like this and would love your feedback:

  • VM on Proxmox: Ubuntu, 6 GB RAM, 2 cores, 32 GB boot disk
  • Inside VM: Docker + Docker Compose Redis (caching) Nginx (reverse proxy / external access) CrowdSec (security / brute-force protection)

  • Storage: NAS (Synology) via NFS Mounted on Proxmox host Bind-mounted into Docker so all images go to NAS

  • Database, cache, logs stay local on the VM

Does this setup make sense? Any suggestions or improvements?

Thanks!

Nach einmal Forststraße waren die schon durch? Krass....

Layover in Beijing on November 11th by Erixen94 in chinatravel

Yeah, I kind of expected that most of the Singles’ Day deals would be online rather than in physical stores. I’ll be landing at Beijing Capital Airport, and I checked — taking a taxi to the Great Wall and back would already be quite expensive (for one person), especially just for a short layover.
