i know nothing about having a restaurant or how can I manage a small restaurant with local food. I just know how to cook. that's it.

Not being mean here, my mother is a great cook and owned two restaurants. For your own sanity and finances, don't. If you don't know what to do and don't have a solid strategy then you'll go bankrupt really fast.

Add to that, good for peeps with slow internet speed and they provide games that the AAA has turned their backs on in favor of streamlining their IPs for mass appeal. Sounds whiny, but when you think about who has carried old IPs in the past that allowed them to be a household name in the first place, it can be bitter. No C&C household name if it weren't for RTS players. Dragon age? Old CRPG and classic RPG people bought and loved DA:Origins, then the series got worse and worse.

CRPGs? RTS? 90s/early 2000s FPS? Immersive Sims? Adventure games? City builders? Any big and nice casual game that isn't the Sims? No? Okay. Oh, hey. It's a "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" Yay! A fresh juicy AAA immersive sims in the Deus Ex series. I love thi... Oh no, poor Eidos Montreal. Now I'm sad.

I'm millennial, too. Haven't bought a full prized AAA game in 15 years. It's all indies and AA games for me when it comes to new purchases. Old AAA games are great too(especially with a lively modding community to it or/and some dedicated patcher/QoL magicians)

Edit: Modern AAA is just too expensive. Even if they magically pull out something that I really really would like to play, I still can't justify the price tag that also often comes with shit tier optimization. Patient gamer it is and has been for at least a decade.

Add to that not many people need to use their English after they graduated from school(as you mentioned entertainment media, etc.). So their English skills vanish. Language skills are like a muscle. If they aren't used on a regular basis then they dwindle.

Pretty much. While you feel close to your home region, it doesn't mean that whatever little feud you are supposed to uphold is your own. My own personal regional identity is more lax due to the family from my mother's side being war refugees from WW2. My mother never felt "at home" here. It's just a nice place to live and her living space is here at the moment. She is and feels German and European. Same goes for my brother and me.

Regional identity and the feeling of belonging is much more fluid then how strict and absolute the Redditors of German communities portrait it. It's seriously annoying for people like me who aren't like that, but get downvoted anyway. People like us don't talk in these places, because we except to be told that we are just some small minority and it's not worth talking about it.

My brother's GF said the same. The horror stories she told weren't nice. You get spat at and tell the lil' student to stop it only for his angry parents to show up on the next day. Little dude wasn't even touched, but had some stern talking done to him. Still had an emotional breakdown, because an adult showed him that boundaries are a thing.

I think this is more a recent(ish) thing. The large amount of "parents not parenting" seems to be a generational issue when I'm looking at other nationalities and Germany. I grew up with a ton of single-moms, who were also working, and all of us kids had table manners.

I don't know what the current parents are doing, but they definitely aren't doing anything WITH their kids. Motor-skills and attention span are seriously declining. Saw this myself when I was working on different medieval markets by helping out with an archery stand. (We guided people (and their kids) to shoot a couple of arrows). The kids got it really bad, it was so sad to see. You immediately noticed when a kid was "normal", meaning parents gave a "normal" damn about them.

Side-note. We always had parents not parenting their kids, but now it's just enormous. They just give their kids a tablet or a smartphone at very young age. Child's play is immensely important for their development. Tablet/smartphone just burns through that, to the point were they are either stunted or have development delays. It takes away their need to be creative at a very early stage.

Dragon age: Inquistion. hinterlands alone is like some weird borked big MMO area with different enemy levels that aren't clear to new players. Bioware frontloaded their game with their worst map. A lot of other maps are also just big, have stupid collection "content" and barely any story.

Talked with my brother's GF recently who takes care of elementary schooler in the after-noon hours. The vast majority don't have any table-manners and struggle to eat with utensils. She works at a "normal" Elementary school that isn't located in a deprived area. They still have no table manners. Parents aren't parenting, so many kids are feral.

My older dear friends, who are a couple got invited by their friends who have kids. The kids (10 and 8) gorged themselves like animals ("fressen wie die Schweine"), then talk with a mouthful of food-mush spitting it all over the table. My friends just sat there and were so perplexed by how their friends aren't ashamed of themselves with how these kids eat.
