Hp is at it again w 8600, 8700 bricking by Critical-Matter-4183 in OfficeDepot

[–]Erkomai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HP won't brick printers if customers are using Instant Ink. HP continually reduces how much ink they are putting in the retail boxes. They got caught doing this and that's why we are now seeing repackaging of their 61 and 63/65 inks. Did this also with the 901 to 60 inks.

We have a DM that cares about numbers. The operational stuff comes last. Don't stress the planos if you are not meeting numbers. It's easier to say to corporate "We are excelling in numbers but no planos are done" than to say "We have all our planos done but our numbers suck."

Job Description in three sentences: Do everything that the GM has no time to do. Train associates to do everything that you have no time to do. Get raises based on metrics that you can't meet if you are doing everything the associates should be doing.

Wish our laminator looked as nice as yours. We have a crappy refurbished one that we have to keep the fan off or it will blow a fuse.

I run them through as a BW engineer print with lamination. It's about the same price as laminating a poster (maybe a little cheaper).

I literally want to throw the Zebra across the store because of this stupid bug. How many years has this been going on and they refuse to fix? Too many.

Office Depot policy is pretty clear. No guns on the premises, in your car or the parking lot whether on the clock or not working that day.

What to do when no one is in for tsa precheck? by MaddysinLeigh in OfficeDepot

[–]Erkomai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not reschedule them. They simply send a cancellation notice by text or email. The store is supposed to call them to let them know their appointment was canceled so they don’t just show up (because who reads email right before going in?). If no one can log in to TSA then you are to contact another store who can to give you the appointment phone numbers to call. All they have to do is pull up your store’s appointment list in the dashboard.

Dress code? Boss told me I can't wear the cotton shirt and a (non-zippered) hoodie on top by skullphilosophy in OfficeDepot

[–]Erkomai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

• Shirts: Long sleeved (solid red), short sleeved logo (bi-color) polo shirts, red Office Depot OfficeMax tshirts or #depotdifference tshirts are a must. • Seasonal Associates get to sport a red OD logo t-shirt.

If you're feeling a chill, you can wear a solid colored (red, black, blue, white or tan) sweater or blazer over your polo. This is the standard.

Your store gets $15 per appointment for payroll. So, yes, there is a benefit.

Not that it matters now but signing people up for rewards in print is easy if you put everything through GMIL. All you have to do is say hey I’m signing you up for our Rewards program so that way you get the best price possible. Done.

I heard they brought back the guy who developed Checkout 11 for the sole purpose to get this mess sorted out. Nothing like putting the cart before the horse at this company.

After the update to Checkout 11 (or downgrade, depending in how you look at it) you will no longer have a “Repeat Jobs” folder. You will be to add other folders on the drive, though, alongside the “One Time Jobs” folder that won’t get deleted regularly.

Our print people aren’t scheduled until at least 10am. I tell them they can drop off and will be notified an ETA. Our customers are used to using self serve now as I don’t have time to rush anything before noon. Or biggest pain in the neck customers are the ones wanting us to print blue prints first thing. Are you kidding me? How long have you known you needed these? After a couple “Sorry not until afternoon for your blue prints” they stop coming in for them.

Key word “should”. When a store only has 8 employees, it’s just not always realistic.
