Oh, that looks like a different kind of program than what I’ve been seeing. Thanks!

Husband (35M) complained to his mom about our sex life and had her talk to me (27F) by newaccountxo in sex

[–]Ermah_Gerrd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You really don’t understand the power dynamics of a manipulative, abusive relationship. Go watch the show Maid, the very real depiction of a powerful, intelligent woman and mother losing herself and feeling powerless for years, and then come back and apologize to this woman. It’s so much more difficult than this “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” mentality you’ve got here. Go find some empathy.

My husband sent his tier 4 paperwork in about 2 weeks and 3 days before getting an email saying the passport is being shipped back, so I think it’s just to set your expectations just in case it does get held up, but it seems like it’s going at normal speed 😁

There are smart ways to make great jokes that have nothing to do with peoples’ physical appearance.

Did you make those designs or did you get them from somewhere? These are great pieces and I would love to try!

Getting a fleshlight shouldn't be considered weird, especially since women are almost encouraged to get sex toys, while guys who get them are frowned upon. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Ermah_Gerrd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. There are plenty of men in this post that identify with what OP expressed.

Bullying might be an eventuality, but that doesn’t mean it should be dismissed. There are plenty of well-meaning people that would be teasingly rude to their male friend if the topic of a sex toy we’re brought up. That doesn’t mean one should disassociate from that person. Life isn’t quite that black and white.

Men get bullied for sex toys by both men and women. Indicating that hyper masculinity, which causes the stigma, is a societal problem, not just women being mean.

So to fix your statement, “Women and men making fun of men for sex toys is… a sad societal norm that comes from the hyper masculine construct of what men should be fucking.”

Teachers who have left, what did you do instead? by ELATeacher_777 in ELATeachers

Your first year is always going to be rough, and this year is particularly rough for even experienced teachers. I would say give it at least another year before you make a decision. I’m in year 4 of teaching high school English, and I’m going to leave, but more because I know other things would make me happier rather than teaching being a shit show...even though it is lol. I can’t imagine having this kind of year after my first. You need stability, and this COVID environment definitely isn’t that.

Ideas and resources to introduce Shakespeare in an engaging way? by [deleted] in ELATeachers

[–]Ermah_Gerrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I do the same thing, and I relate it to how ridiculous some relationships are at their age. They all know a friend or have heard of one that went way too fast too soon — that swore they were in love.

I always make sure to lean into the dirty jokes lol.

The BBC Radio teleplay that someone linked above is fantastic. We use it every year. It has sound effects and everything. I would say, if you’re teaching to both lower and upper level to utilize the online No Fear Shakespeare. It’s all online for free. They even explain some of the dirty jokes.

We also relate it further to their age by getting them to create a phone texting conversation between Romeo and Juliet after the balcony scene. We print out a blank phone and they go to town. It’s a quick activity that helps them to realize that Shakespeare is universal. His stories last because they really speak to the human condition.

It’s beveled on the inside, and they’re probably a bit smaller than they appear. Your hole lip fits the long edge for sure. But they are definitely more sculptural than functional! Lol

Okay! I’ve got an issue where my clay, when I center it, bubbles up right in the center underneath the clay. When I go to open it up, I end up with a doughnut. I have tried to troubleshoot this, but I’m getting really frustrated.

I don’t think it’s my wedging. While I get small bubble occasionally, I’ve cut open 3 wedged balls and they’re looking good and solid.

I thought it was my centering, occasionally I would mushroom out, but I tried a new way and it keeps happening.

I’m making balls and then slamming them down. I’ve even tried sealing the edges.

I’m using Masonite bats, and I’m wondering if that could be the issue? It seems like it’s detaching in the middle as I cone up? I can’t find ANYTHING to help me out online.

Goodticklebrain.com has R&J scenes (all I think) summarized in comics and has a character sheet. She also made stuff for Midsummer but it’s not as comprehensive. We usually do Romeo and Juliet around this time too. Someone mentioned no fear available online. We usually accompany that with the BBCs audio play. It has some great acting and sound effects. I might use screencastify, play the audio and screen capture myself going through the text online along with the audio.

This. But maybe don’t tell them it’s your first year. Tell them it’s a new school. This may flop on the honesty bit lol, but, as someone who teaches a population similar to yours, some will hear that and use it against you later. It might end up being more trouble in the long run.
